Chicken Pickens
Submitted Saturday, June 29, 2013 - 1:45pm [Take-out]

My lunch experience today was not of memories as a kid having the Chicken Pickens. They were running the ads on TV and I called in an order for pick up. First off no cutlery or napkins or crackers and I ordered clam chowder soup, I am glad I was not going to a park or a picnic. The fries were cold and the chicken yet juicy was covered in what I can only describe as doughy pancake batter, it was absolutely disgusting. This can't be same thing I used to love as a kid, I know they advertise for a limited time only but after my experience... times up.

Combo's
Submitted Saturday, June 29, 2013 - 1:01pm [Take-out]

I have eaten here dozens of times and I thought I should give it its due. Their combo dinners for one is usually what I get . Their standard chicken chow mein is the best I have ever had! Fresh noodles bean sprouts and lots of chunks of chicken, the breaded almond chicken that comes in this combo is unreal, super thick chicken breast that is the whole piece of breast (not cut paper thin) with the perfect batter to accompany it. This combo also comes with large size deep fried prawns (5) which are only ok the batter is a little too much for even these large prawns, I usually just tear off part of the batter to balance it out. Their won ton soup is above average and they give you a 3 piece bowl with your combo. All in all the combo 1c is very satisfying.

Not worth it!!

We went there for our Valentine dinner early on Sunday. The place seemed nice and clean, we were seated right beside a large table with 4 children which was unpleasant with the crying. There were other tables available no where near them but for some reason they felt the need to cram us right beside them, we left our kid at home to have a nice quiet dinner. The service was subpar only the water glass was filled in a timely manner. Drinks took 15 minutes after ordering, dirty plates were left until the next course came. This place was not even busy and our entree's took 60 minutes we just about got up and left. Lets go over the food we ordered calamary to start and souvlaki and baby back ribs for mains. Our greek salad was served first which was blan and the feta had no pieces bigger than a sesame seed. The calamary was tasteless and a let down. The mains finally arrived my baby back ribs were hard to describe except for they were like they were steamed to mush then overly seasoned from a shaker then grill for 2 minutes they were terrible. My wifes beef and prawn souvlaki was extremely small about one ounce of beef tasty enough and the prawns were dry. The rice pilaf was really over seasoned, the potato was ok but only half of a small potato and the green beens were good. When I asked for the bill this took 15 minutes and if it was a minute longer I was leaving without paying, when are some of these people going to realize that if they don't bring the bill in a timely manner or they will not get paid and I will walk out. I don't understand some of the reviews listed below. I will never return here even though I have entertainment book coupons but even at half price it is still not worth it.

As the below reviewer said we got a flyer, I gave them a call for pick-up. We are in Poco and delivery is a bit far so Wifey went to get in. I used to work in the most busiest chinese restaurant in the Tri-Cities.. learned Cantonese and prepped wontons and egg rolls for 3 years so you can trust my opinion. First off the menu was well layed out colourful and priced medium and up, so I grabbed a combo to get a bit of an understanding on multiple dishes and it was about a half hour before close on a Sunday and I explained to the girl on the phone the flyer first time customer etc. The dish was about half of the weight of any combo from anywhere my wife had a few bites and disliked it, it was well below par for the price and the hype I am glad that I didn't order 4 dishes and spent 40-50 bucks. I would have called back to complain but by the time it was on the table they were closed, with such an opportunity in the area you think they would really take pride in their food but it was bland, flavorless and undersized. I have had better "chinese food" at a food court in 2 different malls.
