Great Thai Food
Submitted Thursday, October 8, 2009 - 10:39pm [Dine in]

This place is a great hole in the wall. I only discovered it the other day and boy am I glad I did! Coconut rice was great as were the chicken dishes we ordered. I'm not sure what authentic Thai food is like or if this is like it, but it was good food so what does it matter?

I'll definitely return, and couldn't go back too soon!

Great place

I can't understand why the Olive Garden is held in such reverence in this town. It's a chain restaurant, yes, like Coza is.

You know the typical dishes at Olive Garden and that they are fairly standard fare. At Coza, the meals are much more creative and are definitely higher in quality. I love this place and 'chicken under a brick' is by far my favorite meal. The bread with oil & vinegar is to die for. I can't get enough of it.

I've found the service to be fantastic, the atmosphere great and I can say that about the food as well. I've been to Coza about 7 times now and it's been great every time.

Maybe I'm just lucky?

Good, healthy food!
Submitted Thursday, October 8, 2009 - 10:21pm [Dine in]

This place is a great, healthy place to eat! Matthew takes pride in his work and is very friendly.

I've tried several different donairs and they are all good!

My favorite are the californian (with avocado) and the asian. He's just come out with the cyprus which is supposed to be tasty too! It's easy to pass this place, but once you've been in you'll definitely be back!

My favorite Sushi joint
Submitted Thursday, October 8, 2009 - 10:16pm [Dine in]

This place is great. Mike (The Sushi Chef) knows what he's doing and makes his Sushi with only the finest, freshest ingredients. People are coming from all over to eat Sushi here because it's some of the freshest in Vancouver!

My only qualm is with the chicken teriyaki. That's the only thing that I've had that I haven't like. Some days it's great others, not so much. Not everyone has this experience, however! Most of the time it's great!

The sushi is phenomenal. You have to try it.... oh, and try the crazy boy roll!! So good!

What's with the food?
Submitted Thursday, October 8, 2009 - 10:09pm [Dine in]

I'm a keg guy. I've been to the Keg in Langley, Maple Ridge, Vancouver and now the one on Granville Island.

Service was great, but the food... somehow it was off. I started with the baked garlic shrimp and it somehow tasted different than before. It was good, but seemed different.

I had the Sirloin Oscar. The steak was good but the sauce was off too... I love the sirloin oscar but for some reason that night I didn't enjoy it like I usually do.

Maybe it was me and my tastebuds are off... or maybe it was the fact that the seat smelled like an old boat. I don't know what it was but i was a tad dissapointed... and this is coming from someone who doesn't get dissapointed very easily.

Cheap, Good Food
Submitted Thursday, October 8, 2009 - 10:02pm [Dine in]

The idea behind this place is that you come and order what they have on the menu and you eat it.

Honestly, with lunch specials at $5 and dinner specials at $8, what do you expect? It's cheap. And good. I have had the souvlaki a couple times and also the steak. Steak for $10 seriously! It's a great place to get decent food at a tremendous price. BRING CASH. They say that's what helps keep prices down not paying transaction fees and percentages of the bill, etc.

Whatever it is, don't be picky coming to this place. Go be picky at Earl's or Moxie's where they have 3 times as much room to make you satisfied. If the food's good I can live with o.k. service and no customization.

I've paid $25 for a steak and had bad service and bad food so I'd rather go spend a 1/3rd as much and know what to expect.

I think some people expect a $25 meal and service. No, you get a darn fine meal and decent service at one heck of a value!

Souvlaki for $5! Seriously!

Estrella's Montreal Deli5932 200 Street, Langley
This place is amazing
Submitted Thursday, October 8, 2009 - 9:46pm [Dine in]

I've been going to this little cafe since it first opened. The quality has been phenominal since day one. They prepare everything themselves. Even their smoked meat is made the old fashioned way and not purchased in pouches like everywhere else. This is the real deal for you Montreal Smoked Meat lovers.

And for those who just like a good sandwhich, the Panini's are fantastic! My personal favorite, the Turkey Roasted Red pepper is piled with tons of turkey and is packed with flavor. No lettuce here, spinach adds a fantastic texture and unique flavor, and the crunchy panini really seals the deal. The large dill pickle included is a tasty, crunchy specimen. Next time give this a try, squeeze the juice from your pickle into your sandwhich... adds a little bit of extra kick to an already tasty sandwhich. Mike Estrella puts only the finest ingredients into his food and is passionate about the quality of what they serve. Even the soups are made from scratch!

Almost everyone I've brought to Estrella's loves it! I know I do, and I'm sure you will too! Give it a try, it's kind of a local secret!
