Don't Order Chicken Teriyaki Don
Submitted Monday, July 5, 2010 - 12:02pm [Dine in]

My boyfriend only eats chicken teriyaki don at Japanese restaurants. I felt really sorry for him when he ordered one at Sushi Maro. It looked so unappealing. The chicken was basically white. When he let me have a bite all I could taste was pepper. There was hardly any sauce and he couldn't bring himself to finish it. He was starving too! I also ordered ebi sunomono. Disgusting. All vinegar. The shrimp did not taste fresh whatsoever. Do yourself a favor and don't try this place. Even if you're hungry as hell. There's a nice French cafe with great food selection right across the street.

Long Wait, Always
Submitted Monday, July 5, 2010 - 11:54am [Dine in]

I have never dined at Las Margaritas and received my food within 30 minutes time. When I went in for lunch the other day I expected my order to arrive quickly for once because there weren't many people in the restaurant. However, it took about 45 minutes. I was starving. The only good thing is the service and the margaritas.

If you want good Mexican food go to Don Guacamole's on Robson St for much better and faster Mexican food.

Quality Japanese
Submitted Monday, July 5, 2010 - 11:41am [Dine in]

I'm Asian so I happen to eat a lot of Japanese places. High end, low end, all of it. Temaki is the best Japanese restaurant for its price range and category. The service is prompt and the ambiance is clean. But best of all is the quality! Even my boyfriend who is an extremely picky eater - who doesn't even like Jap food to begin with - always suggests to eat at Temaki. It's actually annoying how frequent he wants to eat here for their chicken teriyaki don. I usually order their chicken udon. Not because it's what I ordinarily order at Jap restaurants but because they make the best chicken udon. Plenty of delicious chicken strips, perfect broth and tender noodles.
