Another chain restaurant, but new options
Submitted Saturday, December 17, 2011 - 12:32pm [Dine in]

Although we hardly need another chain restaurant in Langley, this one does offer some great alternative menu options, and a fantastic bar and ambiance.

Offering an asian/wok theme, there are some fantastic menu items such as the Prawn tacos with chocolate bacon, Kung Pao chicken, and Szeschuan beef. The bar side is our favourite, as it offers a great vibe, and the decor is modern and cool. The current GM does a fantastic job at making everyone feel welcome.

If you are looking for dinner out in Langley, add this to your list of places to try, it's on par with Milestones or Earls and offers some great menu items. Prices are around the same as well.

Save your money
Submitted Saturday, January 15, 2011 - 7:06pm [Dine in]

We made the mistake of coming here for the second time, this time with friends, assuming the new name meant new management (this was previously called Waterstone). Boy were we wrong. Same rude staff. Same bad service. The only thing that has changed is the menu, which is borderline mediocre, and not even close to being Mexican cuisine. We've been burned twice by this place, and won't be going back ever again. There is nothing worse than paying good money and being treated like a second rate citizen. Perhaps the staff who work here should take a moment to realize that they are in the "service" industry. Good luck Agave, rest assured we won't be sending any business your way.

We love this place!

What a great little place, hidden in the old part of Cloverdale. We go here frequently, and we love the ambiance, with the old brick, the wood floors, the quirky decor, and, most of all......THE LIVE MUSIC!

This is the only place in the area to offer jazz/blues/rock music every night for dinner, and to top it off the food and the service is always consistent and good. Sometimes we come for a late night martini and sit at the bar, which is also a great option if you just want an appy and a drink, and to enjoy the music.

The menu offers a good range of items, and all of them consistently good. My only suggestion is that I wish the menu would offer a few different appetizer option, the menu items are a little dated, and the overall menu could use a refresh. We'd love to see some cool new appies on the menu, and a couple of new entrees.

But, that is a very minor setback to an otherwise solid menu, great service, great music and great ambiance. We come back often, and will continue to do so! Great job bringing this type of restaurant out here to the burbs, makes me feel like I have a little piece of Yaletown in my back yard. Great martini and wine list too!

Don't the Owners Read the Reviews?
Submitted Sunday, June 21, 2009 - 12:11pm [Dine in]

My husband and I have been a couple times, hoping for the best. And, you got it, getting worst. The service is horrible, it takes forever to get a meal, and the servers all treat you with disdain, like you are bothering them. Apparently we aren't the only people who have experienced this treatment. The only people who seemed to be enjoying themselves and getting the servers to smile were the few single guys, most who worked in the kitchen, sitting at the bar. We even had to get up to get our own cutlery, and at one point, after we saw our drinks sitting on the bar for 15 minutes, got up and retrieved them ourselves, and, we noticed several tables around us getting the same arrogant service.

We dine out a lot, and thought this would be a cool new place in Langley. Boy were we wrong. The service was so bad we left without tipping for the first time ever! My husband says we will never go back to this place, even for a drink. We wonder how the owners can be so oblivious? They put so much time and money into the decor, but, don't they read the reviews of their own restaurant?

Superb Indian food in Langley
Submitted Sunday, June 21, 2009 - 11:46am [Dine in]

We have eaten here a couple times, and ordered take out for a large group once. The flavours are great, the portions are great, and the service is friendly. Don't let the little out of the way place fool you, this is exceptional Indian food, and they will take the time to explain the menu items to you if you are a little worried about what to order.

No need to go to Surrey or Vancouver for good Indian food again, we are so glad to have this little gem in Langley, close to home. Several of my friends also eat here, and we have never had a bad meal. Love it!!

Worst Mexican Food I've Ever Had, and I've had lots!
Submitted Monday, February 23, 2009 - 11:31pm [Dine in]

We tried this little mexican restaurant with our family, and were extremely disappointed. This has got to be the worst mexican food we've ever had. Our kids, who eat pretty much any type of food we feed them, disliked it so much we had to take them next door to McDonald's afterwards because they (and we) were still hungry from sending our meals back.

We started with appetizers, which were extremely small portions, barely enough for the 4 of us to share, in fact, the flautas only came with 3, so we had to cut them in half to share with the 4 of us. They were dry, tasteless and had barely any filling. The dinners were the same, tasteless, dry and barely any cheese was used. We left in awe, as we don't know how this place stays in business.

The only good thing we could find to say about it was the margaritas were decent. If you want great, authentic mexican food, skip this place, and instead, go 15 minutes away and drive across the border crossing into Blaine, and go to Pasa Del Norte, it's amazing, authentic, inexpensive, and puts this place to absolute shame. Perhaps the owners should go down there to see how Mexican food is supposed to taste.

Luxe Chinese Seafood Restaurant19653 Willowbrook Drive, #138A, Langley
Best Chinese Food in Langley!
Submitted Monday, February 23, 2009 - 11:16pm [Dine in]

We have been here many times for Dim Sum, and it has to be equal to any Dim Sum restaurant you will find in Richmond or Vancouver! They bring the Dim Sum around on carts, and on Saturdays and Sunday afternoons it's frantic, but the food is fabulous and the service is always friendly and fast. If you don't know what some of the Dim Sum items are, they are happy to explain.

We have also come here a couple times for dinner, and they have all the typical Canadian type Chinese Food such as fried rice, sweet and sour pork, etc, however, if you want a real treat and something outstanding, order the Peking Duck. When we were there they were coming out so fast we could hardly count how many! They carve it at your table, and serve it with crepes and hoi sin sauce. Then they take the rest of the duck, dice it, and serve the remainder with lettuce wrap. Absolutely fabulous!! If you've never had it, don't be afraid to try, it really is delicious.

They also have a fresh seafood tank, although we haven't tried anything from there yet. If you want authentic Chinese food, this is definitely the place to come. Start with the Dim Sum, you won't be disappointed!

Great Spot for a Drink
Submitted Monday, February 23, 2009 - 10:56pm [Dine in]

My husband and I frequent this great pub quite a bit, as it is close to our house. We love the Irish live music they have, and the decor is very authentic. This is a fabulous spot to meet friends for a drink. However, we find that the food overall is very under par. We have never left there saying, wow, that was a great meal. Service is hit and miss, depending how busy they are, but it is always friendly.

We have tried numerous menu items, and would recommend the Pub Pie, or one of their sandwiches. The burgers leave a lot to be desired, and the appies are boring, nothing spectacular. If you want a great place to meet friends, have fun, and listen to live music, this is the place for you. If you want a great meal, eat before you get there. Tables are sparse on Fridays and Saturdays, so get there early or prepare to stand.
