Kintaro Ramen788 Denman Street, Vancouver
great noodles

The ramen just hits the spot. Miso is the way to go!
but you have to wait 20 minutes to get a seat, and i REALLY do not like the sharing of a table with other customers.. just awkward. I really think that they need to expand the place, cause its just really dirty and it doesn't seem like they clean up after each guest since they are so busy.

Anna's Cake House5510 Cambie Street, Vancouver
love their cakes
Submitted Sunday, July 26, 2009 - 6:23pm [Dine in]

their cakes are the best. i have yet to go to any other place that makes the cream so delicious. however, be prepared to empty out your wallet for a cake like this.
the service is pretty bad, the ladies look like they hate their jobs.
a little smile could do wonders.
but.. their cakes are WONDERFUL!!

BBT Cafe5979 West Boulevard, Vancouver
consistently bad food and service
Submitted Sunday, July 26, 2009 - 6:18pm [Dine in]

BBT Cafe is one of those iffy choices for me. The food is bland and not really that great, and the service is terrible. In terms of tea, desserts and coffee they're pretty good, but almost all the light meals are bad. Everytime i go the service is bad, the food has no smell. I remember ordering a curry chicken with rice and they gave me so little sauce. i had to ask a waitress to get me some more.

Cute Pearl Tea House2130 W 40th Ave, Vancouver
very bad service.

the bubble tea is alright and the food is barely okay, but the service is terrible. there are stuck-up waitresses that don't even speak english. i was sitting there trying to order and the woman couldn't even understand what i was saying.
the price is decent and ambiance is all right. but for pay-parking, you're better off eating mcdonalds.

great hotdogs!
Submitted Sunday, July 26, 2009 - 6:11pm [Dine in]

i love japadogs! great food, great service.
but they're quite expensive. almost $6 for a hotdog?
the ambiance is poor, well they're a hot dog stand. it always amazes me how the service lady remembers all the orders. I can't wait for their actual store to open! I will keep going to this stand for their mouth-watering hotdogs.

Guu Original838 Thurlow St, Vancouver
very disappointing.

i understand the whole Japanese ambiance thing.. but blasting music while you shout? It was also SOO DARK i couldn't even see what i was eating. Overall, i thought the food was tasteless and bland, really no bang for my buck. The "tea" was horrible. Probably 95% water and COLD. Disappointing.
The chairs were also wobbly, i couldn't even eat without feeling i was going to fall.

it was okay..

I have been eating at this place since i was little. I remember eating here at least 4-5 times a month. But, the standards have been going down. Before, you could get a plate of ginger for free. Now, they charge 75 cents for it? We pay to eat all you can eat.. but we can't get ginger.
Also, if you order food, for example 5 miso soups, they only give you 3. They also don't always serve you the amount of food you order.
Overall, it was very disappointing.
