Great pizza, a bit pricey
Submitted Thursday, September 23, 2010 - 12:18pm [Delivery]

The food here is great, the pizza is wonderful, they even have soy, gluten free options, etc. My one medium pizza with delivery charge, etc was over 30 dollars. Great deal for two, but for one, it wasn't very good compared to other places that have deccent pizza. I do love their sauce and they have great options. I doubt I'll go for the delivery option but stick to walk in for a single slice.

Good option if you are vegan
Submitted Thursday, September 23, 2010 - 12:14pm [Dine in]

If I didn't just eat the veggies, I probably wouldn't go here. It's a bit pricey for a help-yourself place, but the food has been consistently good when I've gone, lots of selection. At least I don't have to worry about sneaky bits of meat in dishes. The chocolate cake is amazing. For vegan food this is very good. But Dinner usually costs around 20.00 for a small appetite. The good stuff weighs the most it seems.

Best sandwiches in James Bay
Submitted Monday, August 30, 2010 - 8:56am [Dine in]

You can customize your sandwich with all sorts of yummy Italian deli type foods, from marinated eggplant to olive tapanade, this place has it all. They grill your selection to perfection for a reasonable price. The salads are also fantastic here. Best greek and potato! Great antipasta too! Olive selection is always fantastic, and they make very good pesto and tzaziki in house.

Love the location - not the snacks!
Submitted Monday, August 30, 2010 - 8:43am [Dine in]

It is a shame that such a neat, fun, perfect little spot doesn't have better coffee and snacks. I would come here all the time if the coffee was better and there was more to eat (and better quality). I've had a bagel here a couple times, always stale, same with the toast. The baked goods just look generic and unappetizing and the coffee isn't all that swell. I do love the bookstore feel though, and I'd like to patron more often as it would be the perfect place to write, but the coffee at the "corporate" locations is sadly a bit better. I have hope though, this place is the place that should!!!

Tasty but a bit frustrating
Submitted Monday, August 30, 2010 - 8:39am [Take-out]

This is not the place for take-out, everytime I have called ahead so I can pick up food at lunch (which no other place struggles so hard with), they can't do it on time. I've been given different excuses like, they want it to be fresh so it tastes good, or that they get ripped off by people placing orders. Well after a few times, one would think maybe they could write me a reference for picking up the food I order. The only thing that keep me coming back is the best veggie burger in town. It's really good. I've had a benny there, which was good too but very low on the sauce (Maybe a by-product of take-out too).

A nice local joint
Submitted Monday, August 30, 2010 - 8:34am [Dine in]

I'm a veggie, so I haven't tried the fish, but I've had the egg foo yung, stirfried bean cake, and the veggie chow mein a number of times. It's my take-out staple in James Bay, it's always good, fresh and quick. The people are nice, they aren't in your face, but they are always attentive. They could do with more vegetable selection but that's just me (and me eating just veggies), but as far as the local place to get dinner, one of the better options in James Bay!

Rude Food
Submitted Monday, August 30, 2010 - 8:31am [Dine in]

Every time I've been to this place they have been rude. I've called for take-out and been hung-up on when I asked what was in the veggie burger (I was told to call thrifty's and hung up on), I was yelled at when I came inside to eat, with my Father on his birthday. I moved something on the table and the older woman yelled at me in front of everyone. The young girl that works there, didn't know what their website was and told me to "don't be stupid, use google".

The food is never that great, potatoes are hard. The benny is alright, but not worth the abuse to get it. Many other places that are bost tasty and a bit friendly.

I'm not sure who is better to deal with, the young girl that knows nothing about her workplace or the older woman that is the rudest person I've met in awhile.
