(2.3) (2.2) (3) (1.8) (2)Came here recently with a group for lunch. Upon entering I was searching for an excuse to leave the group I was with. It has a musty smell and grimey feel to the place. A notch above McDonalds would probably accurately describe the place.....in that they bring you the food. They have a very small brunch/Lunch menu. I ordered the chicken souvlaki pita with fries. Not sure how a place could screw up fries but these barely saw the hot oil and the souvlaki was tasteless rubbish. Four or five small pieces of chicken and a few tiny bits of tomato. It was supposed to come with tzatziki. If it was there it wasn't noticeable. Someone else had a Greek salad and said it was more like an onion salad. Out of the eight of us I didnt see a meal I would come back for. Perhaps some things are good but I have my doubts so cannot figure out WHY the four stars..
Had lunch here in the past a number of times and had excellent fresh food. The last two times it's been a complete change. We went one night for dinner and ordered a couple of dishes. Within less than 5 minutes our meals were served. Both tasted as though they were warmed up, pre cooked food. What the... Went again some months later for lunch and again unimpressed. Starter soup is now too sweet and my pad thai quite soggy and tasteless. Don't think I'll be back again. SAD because I know they have cooked properly in the past. It used to be my go to place when I needed some good comfort food.
Had dinner here the other night and wished I had stayed at home.. I decided on the house specialty - Roasted lamb. Waitress described it as fall off the bone, roasted lamb shoulder or buttt, roasted with lemon and oregano. She said it was very tender and delicious. What I was actually served was a very tough lamb shank with no seasoning that I could taste whatsoever. More like Mutton which for those that don't know is an old mangy sheep.
Can it get any louder...not bloody likely. Incredible noise and lousy food at astronomical prices. Food presentation was probably the worst I've seen at a so called fine dining place. It's almost laughable but the laugh is on anyone that sets foot in this place more than once. This place is clearly for the unsophisticated 30 or so year olds living off daddy and thinking this is THE place to be seen. Those "trend setters" would never waste their own hard earned money here a second time. Service was strange to say the least but that could be because you can't hear yourself think let alone take a proper food order.
And it's not just the rice, which by the way, is properly seasoned and served at the right temperature. Everything I have tried from the sashimi, the rolls, the special rolls, the tofu have all been perfect. The sushi chef is a gold medal winner and it shows. I took a friend who used to work at a sushi restaurant and she too was impressed. Service is very good and the restaurant clean and comfortable.
