A real disappointment!!!!!
Submitted Saturday, May 26, 2012 - 10:00am [Dine in]

We arrived early and we heard the cook/chef complaining loudly from the kitchen about our arrival "What business do people have arriving this early on a Saturday Morning?' Well, that incensed me and I told the server that some people have to work Saturdays. She was very good. But our table was dirty, one of the spoons in our coffee was dirty and my husband's coffee cup was none too clean. All in all, it was a very disappointing visit. We will not be returning on a Saturday, but will return on a weekday when the regular staff is there. I must say that we were NOT impressed.

Noisy, Crowded, Happening Place -- but NOT a place for a relaxing breakfast
Submitted Sunday, August 13, 2006 - 1:24pm [Dine in]

My husband and I went there for breakfast this morning for the first time. We arrived shortly after opening and the place was hopping already. Obviously, you have to get there at opening to get a Booth. The service was slow because there were only 2 waitresses on duty -- they were both run off their feet. The food was cheap; the ambience noisy and unrelaxing. We foudnt eh environment uncomfortable and likely won't be going back because of that. The food was more than acceptable, but if I can't relax while I'm eating it, I can't really enjoy it.

Friendly Banners Restaurant1690 E 12th Avenue, Vancouver
Friendly, family place

My husband and I eat at Banner's regularly and, while no restaurant is perfect, this one meets our requirements quite nicely, thank you very much. It is clean and the service is fast and friendly -- very important early in the morning and in the evening after a long day at work.

Their breakfasts are particularly good -- eggs, bacon, waffles, and healthy choices galore.

A Trip Into Yesteryear!
Submitted Wednesday, August 2, 2006 - 1:04pm [Dine in]

When I was travelling in Victoria recently, my husband and I went to this eatery for lunch after walking for several hours, convering 10 miles. The staff were friendly; the service was warm and the food was hot and tasted great. The cheese burgers were the closest to homemade that I have ever tasted. We shall return when we go back this coming weekend!!!
