Italian Touch Restaurant15077 Marine Drive, White Rock
Finally, a great White Rock Italian restaurant
Submitted Wednesday, January 31, 2007 - 2:52pm [Dine in]

This new White Rock, West beach restaurant opened last summer in premises that have hosted many previous failed restaurants.

Arguably, the best view in White Rock, coupled with crisp white linen and owned and run by a friendly couple, Nikolai & Sylvia, the Italian Touch restaurant offers consistently good food and service at reasonable prices.

We have visited Italian Touch many times since they opened and everything we have tried on the menu is excellent. The pasta dishes are very good, as are the veal and fish dishes. We have also taken a number of friends to the restaurant and they have also enjoyed the experience.

The service is also very good and on the weekends, Nikolai & Sylvia's two daughters help out with the service.

This is a genuinely great, family run restaurant that we hope becomes a White Rock beach favorite. It is certainly on our list of regular local eateries!

Lured in!!

I used to like the previous restaurant at this location, The Victorian, and was looking forward to the Delta opening a new seafood restaurant. It opened a year or so ago and I have visited three times since. It hasnt really improved much. I recently went back for my 4th time as I was staying in the hotel.

Firstly, I would not classify the Lure as a seafood restaurant as there are simply not enough seafood items on the menu, in fact there are only four fish entrees on the menu and one of them has chorizo sausage). (And four meat items).

The portion sizes are very small and the prices are high!. At our last visit, my wife ordered the filet mignon and when the dish was served she noticed there were no potato's she asked the waiter. He said it didn't come with potatoes but brought some later and then had the nerve to charge for two small potatoes.

The view from this restaurant is one of the best in Victoria - but I would not suggest you visit Lure for the food!

Over-priced and small portions
Submitted Wednesday, January 31, 2007 - 2:09pm [Dine in]

We visited this restaurant when the first opened a year or so ago and the food was average and the portions were rather small.

We recently went back to try again with much the same experience. The main thing that annoyed us was that we decided to have a ceasar salad and the waiter asked us if we wanted the salad split. We received two very small portions and they charged us to split the salad even though the waiter didnt mention they would charge. When we questioned this he said the salads were larger when they split them. This was a little hard to believe as combined together the salad hardly filled a small side plate.

Once again the portion size was very small considering the prices for entrees are high. This reminds of the Noveau Cuisine fad many years ago!

Considering our overall bill was over $150.00, the little charge should not have appeared.

Restaurants should always remember that it's the little things that upset customers. I doubt we will return!

Snotty management
Submitted Wednesday, January 31, 2007 - 1:58pm [Dine in]

Overall the food in this restaurant is average, but the attitude of the management needs attention. They seem to look for an opportunity to add little extra charges without telling you. When you ask what the charge is for, the waiter has to have the manager come over and explain to the customer why. And then the manager gets snotty with the customer that they added a charge to substitute small.

This restaurant has been in White Rock for years and needs to wake up to the fact they are not the only Italian Restaurant in town.

Inconsistent Food & service
Submitted Wednesday, January 31, 2007 - 1:44pm [Dine in]

We have been to Sabatino's a few times and each time has been a different experience. More recently, even with a reservation, we were kept waiting over 30 minutes for a table. The food quality has been inconsistent in that sometimes it is fairly good and sometimes very poor! At our last visit the food was cold and had to be sent back to the kitchen and

Overall, I would say this restaurant lacks a personal touch and the food presentation needs attention!
