BOO HOO HOO......one of my favourite restaurants is closed!

Unfortunately one of my favourite restaurants is now closed. We happened to pop by on the last day....and we didn't even know it was their last day until a friend we were talking to on our cell mentioned it when we told him where we were having lunch (they had a dinky sign posted on the opposite door that people enter in and it wasn't eye level).
Unfortunately the owner has some health issues, so they decided to close the restaurant.
No more lemon chicken, spicy tendon, fish flakes on tofu, chilli sole, etc, etc. =(
Hopefully they'll open up again somewhere else one day!!!

just had dinner here today. only one waiter who served the restaurant, but he was pretty efficient & friendly. food took a little longer than most korean restaurants we go to. our party ordered pork bulgogi $11 (forgot to ask how it was), seafood tofu soup $8 (standard according to my hubby) and i ordered the stone bowl bibimbab w/ tofu soup $11. was happy w/ my meal and surprised how cheap it was compared to other restaurants. mos places charge a $1-2 premium to have the bibimbab in a stone bowl (dol sat bibimbab) so it usually costs about $10. For $11 you got the stone bowl and almost the same portion of tofu soup as the regular menu. both were tasty.
as well surprised that with 4 adults the waiter brought out two sets of side dishes. most places only give you one set and you have to ask for more and sometimes they charge you to refill. the waiter actually asked us if we wanted refills.
nice that he also spoke good english as it's not always the case in the restaurants we normally frequent.
would definitely go back again!

have been to this restaurant about 3 times now. Food has been good everytime we go.
Recently went for the $200 set dinner menu. all the food was really good. surprised at the size of the lobster/crab dish as it was huge. everyone was full, halfway through the meal.
service was pretty good. we were going to add more dishes thinking there might not be enough food, but waitress told us we'd have more than plenty....which we did as we had a ton of left overs!
would highly recommend. hard to find a good chinese place in burnaby! will have to try their lunch menu sometime.
quite a roomy restaurant with lots of seating. nothing extraordinary in terms of ambiance. they've got tons of magazine, but i was laughing b/c i saw one displayed that was from 2000. who knows about the rest of the mags.

I haven't tried the chocolate but will have to try it now. I'm not a real coffee drinker (ie. only drink iced cofees, frappaccino's, etc) but they've got awesome cafe mocha (with the chocolate whip cream of course). And their prices are awesome; you can get a double for about $3.60.
If you're ever on Commercial, you need to drop by!
