Warning: do not attempt to eat here when the Cancuck are playing. You'll never find a seat.
This place is always busy whenever we go but that's because it's a good place. The menu is large with classic pub food but some items that are really unique.
The staff is always nice, if a little busy. There are a lot of tables for them to serve so you have to be patient sometimes.
But overal, a really good place for a beer and a meal
I've lived in New West for 6 years and just discovered this place.
The atmosphere, you can not beat. They actually have a tonn of photos and relics from the original penitentary.
The menu is a decent size with some really good items. The burgers are AMAZING and the milkshakes just perfect. They always have a daily special which is often really interesting and always worth a try.
The staff is awesome. It's a fairly small place so you get a lot of attention without them leaning over your shoulder the whole time. The patio looks amazing (I've only been when it's been closed).
This is definitly one of my favourite, out of the way place in New West
I love to visit this pub whenever I'm down on the boardwalk.
The food is really good; very classic pub food. They have a really large patio which is now smoke free so it's nice to sit out their and watch the tugboats go by on the river.
The staff is always nice but sometimes they can get rather busy but I think they try their best.
A very well-known place to go in New West. The food makes up for the horrible ambiance (little room and it really does look like a cafeteria) and the poor staff service (I don't think I've ever seen one of the waiters smile).
But the food is SO good. My friends and I just order a whole bunch of dishes and share them between ourselves. The menu is huge and has some really great dishes on it
I live just up the road from this restaurant so my family has been a regular visitor for many years. The new owners have certain spruced up the interior decoration but left the menu mainly untouched.
The staff is always friendly and the service is fairly speedy.
Their pizza is fantastic but a bit on the expensive side. As for the rest of the menu, the greek items are good, the lasagna watered-down and generally uninspired. They do offer nightly specials but they are kind of run of the mill.
The actual place is really neat, with photos of previous customers all over the walls and tables. The menu is impressive, with a huge variety of different burgers. I love the steak cut fries that they serve with the burgers and the burgers themselves were large, well cooked and creative. The price was the only down side; over $20 for a meal + tip.
I was shocked at some of the previous reviews. I love this restaurant. The waiting staff is quirky and the owner regularly comes by for a chat. I love how the place is a converted home and I've never had a bad meal here. The menu is huge with a large variety of different dishes. The service is usually decently fast and I always enjoy my meal.
