Good AYCE but poor service
Submitted Sunday, May 1, 2011 - 8:51am [Dine in]

Their food is very good and it is usually crowded but I find their service lacking. It's not because they are busy, but because of one of their business "tricks." To order, you fill out a paper form and hand it to the staff. But after you hand in this form twice (two orders), they STOP giving you the form, forcing you to request a new one. I have ame back multiple times thinking maybe it was just bad luck on my part but it has happened every time. Of course requesting a new form isn't that big of an issue, except when I did so about the fourth time, they stopped going near my table completely. The guests I have brought did not like this at all. If you are thinking of coming here, the food is great and so is the environment, but be prepared to be aggressive at ordering if you want a true AYCE.

Nice place to relax or grab a meal

They serve westernized-chinese food but I think it's one of the best. I have sampled many chinese restaurants and few can come close to some of Jade Rabbit's dishes (Gotta love the lemon chicken). Some of my friends even make the trip from New Westminster just to eat there. The service is good if they're not busy, but when they are, it can take a while for food to come out, but that's understandable. The value of the food is average, with dishes rarely exceeding $20. I like the ambiance, it is quiet (if there's not a lot of people) with soft love tunes playing in the background. It's a good place to relax. They also do free delivery in case you have a craving for chinese but don't want to leave the house.
