A new low in food court food in the lower mainland
Submitted Friday, March 20, 2015 - 9:04pm [Take-out]

I have eaten here before and it was not as bad but never very good either. This time it was pretty well inedible. Maybe with spring break and no high school kids coming in to remove some of the food they just let it sit there and dry up. We threw most of it out after trying to stomach it. The fried rice that I ordered with it was easily the worst I've ever eaten, bar none. The guy serving couldn't put his phone down and some luckier potential customers walked away when they couldn't order. Should of clued in and walked away as well. The other place that serves soup and congee is always good and I normally order from them and will be from now on. Lesson learned.

So-so pho place
Submitted Friday, December 5, 2014 - 5:25pm [Dine in]

I probably should have had the pho like everyone else there seems to. We had the salad rolls and lemon chicken/spring roll vermicelli bowl. They were both not bad but I have had better in Surrey so I won't be back for those kind of dishes here, maybe come back and try the pho. But with the parking like it is there that might be problematic. The salad rolls might have had MSG in them as the taste of them stayed around for most of the day. Very good service though and pleasant as well.

Either they improve their food or people are going to go there once and probably not again. I will say that a reason to go back are the samosas and veggie pakoras. I've tried the other dishes hoping to hit a good one but usually strike out. Sincerely hope they pick up the slack though. They are nice enough customer service wise.

Only went a couple times because it was out of the way......and kind of pricy. Very nice d├ęcor inside so I guess they need money to cover the cost. Tried to find something on the menu that was snackable but not put me in the poorhouse. No luck there and what I did order was hum drum. Nay comin back.

I don't know what happened to the last few reviewers, but you don't get a line up for bad food etc. took a friend there for dim sum lunch and we could only pack away 4 dishes before giving in. Solid dim sum in large portions no complaints from both of us. The price was what you expect and it came out to just over $20. For Langley that's not bad. I have had dim sum at another place on Fraser hiway in langley I won't mention that paled in comparison. I'd go back for sure. Seems like juding by the line up on a Thursday afternoon other people do to.

Don't go in here half hungry
Submitted Sunday, January 20, 2013 - 4:25pm [Dine in]

My new favorite restaurant. The place is big enough for lots of people but I guess with the location it doesn't fill up. What they do is fill you up instead. Extensive menu will keep me coming back, only next time I'll know how big the dishes are. I was trying to sample an appetizer (spring rolls) and a rice dish (currey beef flank on rice). Way too much unless you come real hungry. Both dishes had that authentic taste of being closer to home cooked than restaurant fare. The place is also one of the cleaner diners I've been to as well. Salad rolls are big and tasty too. Good friendly service. Took half what I ordered home but was really wanting to have the fried banana with ice cream for dessert, next time for sure.

Ordered the #36 which was $8.20 and came with 3 meat selections on a bed of rice noodle with salad. Had a tough time eating the whole thing and that was mostly because of the amount of meat in the dish. It had chicken 2 pieces. pork chop about one large piece and a pork patty like item. All where nicely done and flavorful. The salad was fresh and tasty. The side of dipping sauce was differant from most places as it had more chili bite to it. The other diner with me just had the salad rolls which she found to be good and the dipping sauce just as good as well. No doubt I'll be back. I hope they don't go out of business because there were a few more dishes that I would like to try that you don't usually see on Vietnemese menus. That 5 meat plate looks like one to take on with a group. Good value for reasonable price.

Not a bad meal for lunch
Submitted Tuesday, November 27, 2012 - 5:05pm [Dine in]

I like vietnamese dishes and was in the area at lunch time. Had a friend with me and we both ordered the lemon grass chicken with spring roll bowl with noodle and veggie. It was very nicely done and was by no means a let down. The prices are about par for the kind of restaurant. Good service and it being a Tuesday lunch time they were doing pretty good business. Lots of seating in what looked like a fairly clean restaurant. My only somewhat complaint is they did not have some items on the menu or combos that I really like. We left there feeling well fed on a tasty dish though. I would recommend it on just what I had.

Tried the place out for the lunch special. I had the curry chiken on rice and it came with a good amount of fresh vegitables and a thick currey sauce, The owner is a very nice guy and you feel like coming back to try some of the other items on the menu. You can tell he uses good fresh ingrediants. My only issue was that it was a tad on the salty side so next time I'll ask if he can tone that down a bit. The decor is nothing special but you can't help but feel the lunch special price and quality more than made up for it.

Thankfully I used a coupon for the meal because the price was a train wreck for what I got. Ordered the 18 dollar mushroom schnitzel. It was OK not something worth $18 and tip. The other half had the $11.50 patty melt which again didn't stand out as anything other than so so. The on tap beer was warmish, I like a cold one. What they do best would be the desserts which is differant cheese cakes. That was the highlight and I don't really like dessert. The affects of the warm beer were laid sobber with the bill. I noticed mostly older people eating there and some just came for the dessert. Usually older people are more frugal so this must be a place to let your hair down and look at all the train stuff.

Great lunch menu here with great prices and quality food. It's not so much the taste as the consistantly good food. If you like western style Chinese the Dragon at lunch is your place. Large portions and good take out as well. There is a decent selection of combination lunchs as well as items on rice like currey chicken. The servers are always friendly and I like to tip them because you already saved money on the meal.My lunch spot when in Langley

Lunch special is specially good
Submitted Monday, December 5, 2011 - 7:44pm [Dine in]

Been eating here for years usually for their lunch specials. Great value for the buck and good food to boot. Also the wonton soup is one of the best you can get due to the way they spice the broth. Can't go wrong here at lunch time. We do have dinner as well and I usually go for one of the Vietnames dishes. All done quite well.

Wings and beer
Submitted Monday, December 5, 2011 - 5:03pm [Dine in]

I've been going there since I started working nearby in 2008. Kept hearing those ads for 15 cent wings. They cost 25 cents now. But stilla great deal and 2 dollar pints on Monday and Wednesday. A Cloverdale landmark the building that is. The washroom does not smell into the bar. But being that the building is older they should gut the washroom and put in new ones. The oldness of the bar area just adds to it's charm. Good Indian dishes there too.

I have been to this place about 20 times over the last few years. The price is slowly climbing up there but still a good value for what they offer. Probably the most visited Indian restaurant for me. It is a little shabby inside but not dirty. Never had the trotts after eating there either.

Because no one notices you there. I've learned to just go right to the bar and order a beer. Then I don't have to worry about feeling bad for not wanting to leave a tip for the lack of sevice at the tables. Food is so so and I haven't ordered any in some time. Also game night brings in lots of younger sport fans and the service gets even worse.

"Half price appy" is my middle name
Submitted Wednesday, November 30, 2011 - 11:01pm [Dine in]

I stop by there a few times a month. Mostly for the food deals. When they have a good chef at the helm most items go down great. Great half price appys from 3 to 6 pm and also have other specials like Crab Wednesdays and fish and chip Tuesdays. The Red Thai Curry wings are my favorite. The bartenders are a likable bunch and the sevice at the tables is usually pretty good. Just don't come in after a big game has started or you'll be hard pressed to get a good seat. One of my favorite pubs in Surrey.

I would drive an extra 10 minutes and find a better restaurant. Some of the dishes are getting to the OK level but most are going to give you gas. Not the cleanest place. The bill will always be 20 % more than what you thought it would cost. No receipt.
