My STRAIGHT MALE friends and I felt like pedophiles
Submitted Friday, January 26, 2007 - 5:26pm [Dine in]

Is it me and my friends, or are servers encouraged more and more these days to be as scantily clad as possible? There were girls that looked like they should still be in middle/high school there in LINGERIE working there. It was so uncomfortable cuz we litterally felt like older than we are, looking at kiddie porn or something.
The food wasn't bad and was served in a timely manner. However, when our cake came out (I brought it there for a surprise for my best friend's bday) one side of it was damaged due to their poor handling of the cake that was in perfect condition when I first brought it to the restaurant earlier. That was a big disappointment, considering it's a customer's property, so it should be handled with care, not sloppily as if it was your dirty laundry. I was not impressed, and neither were the rest of my friends. I don't think I'll go back there. It's just too uncomfortable seeing 16 year-olds wearing lingerie as their uniforms being hit on by guys who can be their fathers. That's just nasty.

Better before they renovated
Submitted Friday, January 26, 2007 - 5:17pm [Dine in]

The food and service and EVERYTHING was perfect for what you paid for before they renovated the place. Now the portions are smaller, price higher and the food is still the same quality as before. I know that renovating costs money, but I'm not going to go there for overpriced food and tiny portions to help pay for the renovations.

This is the place to go to...

...if you want decent priced for decent portion sized Korean food. Most Korean places give you tiny portions and charge you an arm and a leg in Lower Mainland, but this is definitely a great place to go for good Korean BBQ food. Go for the combos because they are huge and worth it (about $20 per person). Be forewarned though, you should make reservations at least a day in advance if you're going during dinner time and don't want to wait. It's the best Korean place to go to in Coquitlam, so it's always busy like mad.

I've been there a few times and I gotta say that the service is pretty crappy. The server will come to take your orders, but once you get your food, they'll forget you forever until the next time you come back, if you do, that is. Last time my boyfriend and I went there, our waitress managed to do everything and walk back and forth in front of us WITHOUT taking our orders (that lasted for at least 15 minutes). And when she actually took our order, she just rushed off so fast as soon as we said "coke" that we weren't even able to tell her that we can order our food as well. So we waited another 10 minutes for our cokes to come back and to order our food. She never checked on us or anything, so we complained to the manager. He didn't even care, he was too busy looking around the restaurant and not paying attention to anything that we were saying and then just gave us a "free appitizer" coupon to get rid of us. No sorry or anything! Needless to say, we never went back. If management doesn't even care when customers are complaining, then it's just poor.

it just closed down not too long ago. The food was pretty good but they're closed a lot of the time, so it's hard to get food there sometimes. this review was basically used to let ppl know that they're now closed down, so don't drive all the way down there if you want chocolate cake

I came here with my boyfriend's family after we all heard that it was pretty good. For the price, the portions and taste of the foods were PHENOMENAL! I swear, if I wasn't busy talking when the chef came out to take my dish away, I would have asked him to pack up the curry sauce for me. It tastes SOOOOOOOO good that I can just mix it in my rice without anything else and eat it until my stomach ruptures, it's THAT good. I hope he gets a chance to open up a larger place though, because it's incredibly small for such an exceptioinal place.

Definitely go there for the dine out if you can, considering they actually make special foods JUST for dine out rather than taking regular items from the A la Carte menu and putting them together. The appetizers were very yummy, but definitely not as great as the main course. The creme brule was a little too sweet for my boyfriend and my liking. Service couldn't be better, other than the host sitting us in a tiny table in the corner when there were some booths and slightly bigger available. It's one of those fancy-schmancy restaurants, so everything was as if they were catering to people in private clubs. Definitely going back there next time I'm around the area.

The food is so nice, as well as the ambiance. The service was a bit slow, so I would totally suggest for them to either hire and train a few more staff to serve. However, when the server was around, he was as nice and helpful as can be. My boyfriend & I had the dineout menus and everything just tasted wonderful and portions were a good size. He even said it was his new favourite restaurant. Needless to say, we're going back.
