(3.4) (2.8) (3.8) (3.4)We like to sit in the barsection to watch NHL Hockey. Its a good place to eat, watch and be seen. The TV's are well place, but the sound is low as not to disturb the diners! The waitresses are fantastic, fast and pretty. The food portions have gotten a bit smaller, for example, they substituted fried asian dumplings for the tempura prawns in the Bento Box recently, while keeping the price at $16 as before. Thats a veiled price increase. The beer is still inexpensive (relatively) and the service is fantastic. The patio is great too. "Pubhopper"
The new location in the Park Royal (I mean the NEW location that assumed the old Steamworks pub in the South Mall), is excellent for sporting events. If you want sports, the back room, the poolroom is great because they can turn up the sound for you. The sound remains off in the rest of the place as it is a restaurant after all! Fair game. The food is ok, but for sporting events, this place is our latest favourite. Check out the new location, andi you are sports fan, you will love it.

This is "Cheers" the show - revived. The staff and the owner are friendly and happy to serve you. The food is good value and rather good. The bartenders are fun and become your friends instantly. They remember your drinks and anxious to please you. How can you go wrong? Its the place for all sporting games, NHL Hockey, Football, Soccer, whatever. Its our favourite pub. "Pubhopper"
The Red Lion is our favourite place to meet, but could we please have some consistency? Its hit and miss. We had some very good meals and some that I should have sent back. Often there is too much salt in the sauce, to the point where the salt kills the taste of all else. Richard - please hold back some of the Salt. If I want that much salt, I can add it myself. We loved the Bavarian month. The portion sizes are also inconsistent, ordering chicken breast - some days its OK for its size, but at times the portion is just a small snack. Can we have some consistency, please. The Service is outstanding, the staff is out of this world. We keep coming back because ALL the STAFF is so warm, pleasant, smiling and welcoming. We ordered the Seafood Green Currie HotPot and the Pad Thai for 2 of us, after some consultation with an efficient smiling waiter. It was excellent thai food. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Our smiling and highly efficient waiter was highly attentive but not pushy. The decor is clean, modern and very pleasant looking. The two dishes were almost too much food for two of us, and asking for a doggie bag was simple and easy. The restaurant is divided visually into two halves, so it seems smaller than it really is. Conversation was easy as the noise was kept down. I recommend the place for business entertaining, which is what I was doing. They let us linger after dinner for as long as we wanted. The Currie Hot Pot was fantastic even the next day warmed up at home. After dinner, the owner came by our table and - very pleasantly - ensured that we were pleased with everything. This is very appreciated as many places don't simply care what you think. Thank you! "PubHopper Lady".
