O'Doul's Restaurant & Bar1300 Robson Street, Vancouver
exceeded expectations

This was the best meal that I have had in a long time. The service was excellent - our waiter was attentive without hovering, friendly, and knew the menu inside out. The food was gorgeous and delicious. The mustard crusted rack of lamb and side veggies were perfectly cooked and presented. We were impressed by the extensive wine list, with many selections offered by the glass and half bottle. Very nice experience overall.

Glowbal Grill and Satay Bar1079 Mainland Street, Vancouver
not a glowing review

This was my first dining experience at Glowbal, and will likely be my last. The meal was not disappointing (the sweet pea risotto was quite tasty), however the service without a smile put a damper on the meal. Perhaps smiling isn't cool at Glowbal. Sitting on the beautiful patio, the smell of a nearby dumpster in the air, we marvelled at the table of girls nearby sporting chihuahuas in pink dresses. This is a great spot for people watching, and while I may not rush back for dining, I would return just for the fun of taking it all in - vodka tonic in hand.
