Keg Steakhouse & Bar, The742 Thurlow Street, Vancouver
good place for business lunches
Submitted Sunday, December 11, 2011 - 7:41am [Dine in]

I travel all over the US and usually eat at at classy spots if there is one nearby. I have to say these are world class steaks and of course the ambiance is classy. These are the best steaks I have had for sure from any steakhouse, not only were they fully cooked, but they were not drained well before adding the sauce which made them very marinated. They were busy but the complimentary appies they reserve for businessmen were welcome. It also gave us a chance to quiz the waitress for her phone number. She was blonde and wow.

very cool but lacking attractive women

Great place to go have a steak. Ordered the steak and it was awesome the sides are english style and whatever you do order them they are awesome. The mashed potatoes were good also and the service is fine the waiter was a man though and even though he was nice he was a guy. The view at this bar lacks eye candy. I might come back but my entertainment buck near work can better be spent elsewhere.

Very disappointing after taking my lady friend that wanted Japanese
Submitted Tuesday, December 6, 2011 - 8:30pm [Dine in]

Food so-so but service atrocious. First of all, there was very little service during the meal--our water was not refilled, no one asked us how the food was, etc. The Japanese waitress brought us the wrong food item and then when the bill came, we were charged for both items. Finally, when we tried to pay at the end, we asked to pay the "recommended tip" in cash while the meal was put on our credit card. The manager, Mr Ho (or simialr Japanese name), came over and started berating us, saying we must charge both the meal and tip on the credit card. He refused to let us pay the tip by cash. To start I wsanted to get out of there anyway. He said that if we charged the meal only on our credit card and paid the tip separately, we were not allowed to come back to the restaurant! It was unbelievable. and I had a night planned with my lady friend he was ruining. I have never seen such complete lack of customer service in a manager. He obviously did not care about keeping customers. A dim sum meal should be a treat. The service ruined it.

Eat in Richmond like you are downtown
Submitted Tuesday, December 6, 2011 - 8:15pm [Dine in]

In an suburb strangely devoid of many top-notch eating options, Browns shines out as Richmond's beacon of civilised dining. The long, low-lit space filled with modern tables is suited as much to business lunches as it is to post-work meals and drinks with dates. Now if you don't bring your own they have very sexy and relaxed blonde staff that confidently attend to a varied range of customers, from food-lovers drawn by the cute staff to tourists who found the place simply by driving past.
Andf then there are people like me that are attracted to good food, good wine and beautiful women.
Bottom line is this is the best place in Richmond for a fabulous meal in a sexy busy restaurant with service that is professional, attentive and friendly, food is inspired -good sized portions very reasonable prices and great house wines. just love it!
