I took my mom out for an early Mother's Day lunch on Sunday, May 2nd.
I ordered the shrimp tacos with fries ($13.99) and my mom ordered the seafood grill ($16.99).
SHRIMP TACOS
If you like Old El Paso hard taco shells then I guess this is the lunch for you because I think that's what these were - straight from the grocery store shelf! I suppose because I've had fish/shrimp tacos at other restaurants that were quite good, I was expecting something along the same lines. Oops, I was wrong. Also, my fries were barely cooked and there was about 6 of them.
SEAFOOD GRILL (Prawn, sea scallop and salmon)
You get more potato and green beans than you do any of the above. You get one prawn, two small squares of salmon and one scallop. But like I said, if you like pototoes and green beans and want to spend $17 on it, then this is the lunch for you.
This is the second time that I've taken my mom for mother's day lunch at the Boathouse and from what I hear from other people as well it is quite hit and miss. I have had good meals at the Boathouse but not for a looooooong time. I would have complained to the Boathouse but honestly, I don't want a gift certificate for a free lunch.
I don't mind small portions whatsoever but it should be reflected in the price.
Next time, we're going to Pajos!
