Seems like a good place that needs more customers. I ordered a couple little samples at lunch time and was pleasantly surprised at the careful presentation. Everything was fresh, the rice was perfect and it looked a lot prettier than the plates at other neighborhood sushi joints. The place was empty so hopefully it'll catch on soon.

leaves something to be desired.

A friend and I went to Boneta last night for dessert and a nightcap. We shared a lovely dessert with pecan mascarpone and coffee mousse. It was really tasty. We both really wanted boozy coffee, so we asked for americanos with brandy. (there weren't any coffee drinks on the menu) We were pretty bummed out about the drinks. We got these little cups of coffee that looked and tasted like drip. No crema whatsoever, very stale tasting.(although the waitress ensured us they don't have drip coffee.)
They gave us a little side shot of brandy and a couple sugarcubes that didn't even melt cause the coffee wasn't hot enough, and a little jug of milk to go with it. Not even cream! Watered down, stale coffee with a little brandy goes for 9 bucks each apparently! So I felt a little ripped off. For 40 bucks I feel we should've had a more memorable experience.

I will go any day/any time for the guac & chips (xtra chips because they never give enough) and a Cowboy Limonata. It is a huge drink and soooo tart. Mmmm! I was also surprised at how lovely their desserts are. We had a mexican chocolate mousse with sugared tortilla chips (they called it churro-style) and a piece of cheesecake with limey sweet sticky sauce. SOO good. There were about 6 of us and we all agreed on this. I think they need more servers or a proper bartender because the drinks take forever sometimes. Always satisfying overall.

someones idea of a sick joke?

This place is ridiculous. I went with a group of 5, and the whole event was painful. Besides the fact that the food was sub-par, (cold lasagna, pre-fab entrees) it was a struggle to get the waiters to clear our plates, bring more drinks, or pay any attention to us whatsoever. Also, I don't think there's really any cooking that goes on there, I think the waiters just microwave things and assemble those little "plates" themselves. We couldn't wait to get out of there.
