Perfect Date Night Restaurant
Submitted Sunday, March 18, 2012 - 12:14pm [Dine in]

I've been here a few times. When I am meeting a fine lady this place suits us fine when in Langley. We also get take out and order steak with salads and appies. Super yummy!!

I ate in once over the lunch hour too and it was Saturday. Tried on of their lunch specials which was not bad at all. The cone fish was delicious and very reasonably priced! The girls are a joy to watch. They know how to have you coming back.

I definitely recommend this place for lunch or dinner if you are in the Langley area.

When your wife craves sushi
Submitted Sunday, March 18, 2012 - 12:11pm [Dine in]

This is easily my favourite sushi place in the city.

The good: The service is excellent, prices are cheap. Food is amazing with lots of choice.

The bad: honestly, nothing. They don't take credit card, which is a bit irritating but that's it.

Salmon sushi pizza is really good - if you're a fan of sushi pizza, this is one of the better ones with the right mix of sauce and deep-fried rice base.

Tempura is a little bland, but I usually find that anywhere. They have sushi wine called Sake available - I realize it is not for wife dinners.

One of the highlights is their spicy crispy avocado roll - avocado-topped maki with little bits of tempura inside and a secret sauce. The absolute best sushi I've ever had.

I have been out here on several business trips and I am definitely a repeat customer at Cactus on Robson. Great view of young ladies going shopping at the window. The feenie menu is the way to go. The sushi is excellent and the Thai Dumplings are amazing. The wine is not priced out of reach. The service was amazing my first time, but has been has been even better the last few times. The girls are just exciting. The blonde at the door knows my name and is ready to go. I would not bring my wife here but for dates it is perfect. I recommend this place to anyone craving sushi or steaks and wines in Robson.

Vlassis Souvlaki & Greek Taverna10028 King George Highway, Surrey
Greek flavour
Submitted Thursday, October 27, 2011 - 5:01pm [Dine in]

Their donairs are the best I have found, the bread at Vlassis is world famous is pretty good too but for some reason to me their donairs taste better as a whole.
When you pay for extra sauce and dip you get it, even a little container on the side of sauce.
I get a super donair everytime. The meat is always freshly cut and throw onto the grill for more flavour, along with the pita, the fries look and taste fresh each time, and like most places, the sauce is godly, it brings life to my mouth. The meat explodes with flavour and is really juicy.

They have good friendly service and are open very late 12 am I believe.

Five Guys Burgers & Fries2285 160th Street, Unit F8, Surrey
Only For Suckers
Submitted Sunday, October 16, 2011 - 5:27am [Dine in]

Five Guys is called that probably because you eat for one but pay for five. Do you know how much a hamburger is here? And it is nothing special. I mean unless you deem the branded paper in the tray a unique factor. The staff are just like any other fast food joint running around, rushing you to place your order and putting the burger on the tray, etc and the fries were definitely off. Perhaps too old? Oily/off fries and regular hamburger for $12? No thanks

It is not my purview to review the customers of the restaurants I visit, but I had never seen so many pleasing attractive ladies in one restaurant outside downtown Vancouver. What can I say, $200 haircuts, short skirts and such get me as a man every time. Speaking of that, the yummy blondies on the staff were designed to force me to order high priced drinks and tip extra and they know it. What a delightful restaurant.
The pasta was fantastic and obviously done right: not too much salt in the sauce like some other places. I think they add mint to it. Great idea. Wine, pasta and tip for 2 is $100 no more. I am thinking of visiting more.

The Good And The Bad
Submitted Sunday, October 9, 2011 - 7:07pm [Dine in]

I never wrote reviews, but his place is so strange (extremes) I just had to tell as many people as possible.... This place should just shut down It has really gone down hill in the past few years. Menu is boring and the place is looking trashy. Tuesday late afternoon and we waited an hour for our food - no exageration. It took almost half an hour to even get water when we first arrived and then they forgot the lemon. Ordered a beer and it took 20 minutes to get that.
Fries were McCain string fries - not good. Chicken on the club was as dry as could be. Burger was ok, fish was hot thank goodness but will never go back. There are alot of great places to eat in Richmond to bother with this trashy place.
On the plus side some women were here and they looked positively cute and pretty. Too bad they were with guys probably from their work. Women like that are what makes a pub.
