Favourite Pho Place
Submitted Sunday, January 3, 2010 - 3:53pm [Dine in]

This is definitely my favourite place for vietnamese food. I was hooked on their pho for the longest time but have now moved on to the other soup dishes (like bun bo hue and their dry noodles with pork and seafood). I really like coming for lunch or dinner on a budget. Where else can you get tenderloin and rice and salad (the shaken beef) for under 15 dollars? My friend got the basil beef last time we were there and I'm definitely coming back for that.. It has fried basil on it and the beef was delicious.

I travel all the way out to richmond for lemongrass but they just opened a new location on kingsway, so i might save myself 15 minutes and try out that one..

Afghan Horsemen Restaurant, The1833 Anderson Street, #202, Vancouver
first timer
Submitted Friday, June 9, 2006 - 5:47pm [Dine in]

I went to Afghan Horsemen a couple of nights ago for the first time. We ordered the Horsemen's Platter for 3 (~$70) for the four of us to share and it was more than enough food. The pita bread, hummus and spinach dip were probably the best part of the meal. We had beef and chicken kebabs and lamb shoulder. The meat was alright, it was sort of dry and did not have a lot of flavour to it. It could've been though that by the time the kebabs came out we were all stuff and had slowed down by that point. I'm not sure if I'd come back, prices were a wee bit steep for my student budget.. but if I did, I'd definitely get the pita bread and salad

The food was really good. Place was empty the entire time we were there though.. if they're not going to advertise i guess they're relying on word of mouth? Great service (maybe due to the lack of other tables). Prices were reasonable.. but you'd have to order a couple plates each.

Pretty Good

This place was pretty good if you're into white washed asian food. Really nice restaurant & atmosphere though.. The salt and pepper mix thing that comes with the Shaking Beef is like crack. it's soo good.
