A New Years Eve Treat
Submitted Sunday, January 4, 2009 - 1:00pm [Dine in]

I found out about CRU through Open Table. After reading reviews on dinehere.ca and hearing rave reviews from my friends I was sold!

My girlfriend and I were treated to a memorable 4 course New Years Eve meal and very friendly service.

I've had a look at the Dine Out Vancouver 2009 menu and can't wait to try it.

Make sure to visit this hidden gem by South Granville!

A Worthy Replacement to Fennie's
Submitted Sunday, January 4, 2009 - 12:53pm [Dine in]

db Bistro Moderne replaced Fennie's and is a totally different dining experience. The layout of the restaurant has also completely changed.

To start I had the Escargots & Chicken Oyster Fricassee which was amazing and highly recommend. I followed that with the Steak Frites. This classic dish didn't disappoint. The AAA prime sirloin was cooked to perfection and the bearnaise sauce was the best I've had. To finish off the evening I shared the warm madeleines and a special desert not on the menu to make up for the lack luster Petit Fours.

Vancouver is lucky to have New York Chef Daniel Boulud make his mark on the West Coast!

So.cial Disappoints
Submitted Tuesday, February 26, 2008 - 2:17pm [Dine in]

The best part of our dinner was the complimentary garlic humas. I really didn't like the overall taste of the kitchen. The CHARCUTERIE appetizer was too salty and our mains were very average (duck and sable fish). We didn't even attempt dessert.

What made the bad dinning experience hard to swallow were the high prices. If you go to So.cial you won't need a salt shaker and should set aside some time to warn people like me!

Another Excellent Dine Out Vancouver Menu @ COAST
Submitted Saturday, January 19, 2008 - 10:25pm [Dine in]

This was my second Dine Out Vancouver experience at Coast and once again it didn't disappoint. I started off with the Dungeness Crab & Halibut Cake, then had the Miso Glazed Queen Charlotte Sablefish and ended the night with the desert duo featuring a Peanut Butter Bar and Warm Milk Chocolate Fondue. All three courses where excellent and were accompanied by outstanding service. The ambience is what you would expect from a Glowbal resturant and the garlic herb butter served with the baguette bread was a nice touch.

The food falls short of expectations
Submitted Sunday, December 30, 2007 - 4:34pm [Dine in]

The service, ambiance and wine selection were outstanding but the food nothing to write home about. This was my second time at West and with all the accolades it has received I was disappointed with the food even more then before. I've dined at dozen’s of Vancouver restaurant that are much more deserving of being crowned Vancouver's best restaurant.

P.S. The freshly brewed ice tea and cloth hand towels in the washroom were a very nice tough!

A Whistler Must!
Submitted Monday, November 5, 2007 - 1:46pm [Dine in]

The next time you're in Whistler make dinner plans at Araxi and try their 100 Mile Menu. It's an absolute delicious 3 course menu offering a variety of choices to satisfy every pallet. The decor combined with that Whistler vibe and excellent service made for a memorable birthday dinner.

Araxi was awarded "Best Restaurant in Whistler, Gold" by the Vancouver Magazine Restaurant Awards, 2007.

Not What I Expected From A Glowbal Resturant Group Establishment
Submitted Wednesday, October 24, 2007 - 5:40pm [Dine in]

A prime location coupled with excellent decor makes a good first impression but the food was a dissapointment. Also no bread was offered and the men's washroom was in dire need of a cleaning.

I would recommend Al Porto if you want to experience authentic Italian food.

Rotten Whip Cream
Submitted Saturday, September 1, 2007 - 11:10am [Dine in]

When you receive french toast, after waiting for it for 45 min, with rotten whip cream and your server asks you to wipe it off the plate it's not a good sign.

When the you complain to the manager and she does absolutely nothing, it's probably a good idea to never go back.

The Beach House made them selves look even worse in an embarrassing situation.
