We love fish, so spending my birthday at Fishworks seemed like a good choice. It absolutely was! This was a "lick your plate" meal experience. The four of us started with an assortment of oysters: fresh, cold, delicious; followed by the mussels: a little heat of chilies, and refreshing lemongrass, broth requiring more bread to sop up the goodness!I had the Ruby Trout for dinner, what a beautiful creation. Congratulations to the chef! Our plates circled the table. Each dish was a delight of flavour and texture. We got a really nice bottle of wine, which was recommended by our waitress. Staff was professional and knowledgable. We loved the decoration, it is simple, yet very elegant. The dessert selection was told by a staff, we had tried the chocolate brownie with vanilla-pistachio ice cream. It was a pleasure to be there on my special day. Thank you Fishworks!
I have been in this restaurant twice. It haven't appered to me the first time that the service is so poor. The food was solid, nothing special. However, the second time we dined here, our server was borderline incompetent. Our bottle of wine was splashed on the table along with water which was never cleaned for the entire dinner. Thankfully, the server didn't consider pouring wine or beer into glasses as his obligation, so we were able to avoid any more spills the remainder of the evening. When a member of the table waived to the server, he finally came to give us the bill. That was all service we got.We loved the view it is beautiful. I might not come back there ever.
You will like to go there, especially on a cold day. Good food, it was better than we anticipated. We had a bottle of wine, my son and I choose a much higher price wine then we would normally order out. I tried chicken liver appetizer, which was well prepared. The ambiance is quite nice. Music is mediocre. Service was solid.Prices are above average, but affordable.
