Probably tried all the wrong food
Submitted Thursday, April 2, 2009 - 12:16am [Dine in]

I don't mind the busy atmosphere even on a week night.

I couldn't decide between sushi, ramen, or the chicken wings so I decided to go with a beef ramen and a dozen chicken wings (4 each of salt&pepper, BBQ, and terriyaki). Both items were VERY DISAPPOINTING!! The beef ramen, first of all, tasted like instant noodles, especially the soup; tasted bland with msg. The beef in the ramen was extremely overcooked and so chewy/hard I could only eat one piece. Now for the chicken wings, I was surprised to see that they were all fried- not to mention OVER-fried. Not only were the "bbq wings" fried, the only thing that made it bbq was the bbq sauce that came in a bowl. so think fried chicken wings with asian barbeque sauce out of a bottle. The terriyaki sauce wings were not much different except they poured in the teriyaki sauce this time. I would high recommend NOT getting the wings despite the tempting deal advertised.

However, despite my bad experience with those items, I think the less ordinary sushi items that my friends ordered looked and tasted much more appealing. i would probably give this place one more try but only have sushi and sashimi.. and maybe a fried mars bar.

Not bad for Fast Food
Submitted Sunday, June 17, 2007 - 2:45pm [Dine in]

For a fast food place, this place has got some pretty good food. It's fast and to-the-point and you can get what you want. However, it cannot compare to restaurants in selection and you don't want to always get food there. For a once in a while place, it's good!

Good price, alright food.

A good selection for a pretty good all you can eat pricing. However, the oysters and other cooked food were not something you would drool over; stick to sushi and cold food for their late night all you can eats.

Great summer setting.

After a day out in the beach, the patio of Earls was a great place for dinner. Since me and a girlfriend sat right by the fire, there was a nice, needed coziness outside while the sun was setting along with the soft lighting. Great service, but why were there only female servers? Good food and moderate pricing. Made an enjoyable night out!

MmmMmm Selection Menu
Submitted Sunday, June 17, 2007 - 1:54pm [Dine in]

Great for a carefree lunchtime with friends. Their selection menu is very good and has a good variety although similar to other places. However, I find that their option of salmon very appealing and it is extremely tasty. They also do not get grumpy if you ask for separate bills (even when we did it with 15+ people).

Great Ice-cream.

Awesome gelato ice-cream especially the after eight. Really tastes like after eight chocolate! The ice-cream tastes absolutely outstanding but there's no fly-to-the-sky feeling. haha, but still awesome highly recommended ice-cream there.

All You Can Eat
Submitted Sunday, June 17, 2007 - 1:46pm [Dine in]

Not my preferred all you can eat restaurant, but does have some good selections. Salmon sushi is quite good, but I would rather have AYCE at Sui Sha Ya. Service here is good, but setting is quite average. Lots of parking space though and easy to find!

Good Selection of Food and Nice Waiters
Submitted Sunday, June 17, 2007 - 1:36pm [Dine in]

My first time into the restaurant, the waitress (later found to be the owner) was very friendly and gladly got me what I needed even when I accidentally got her running back and forth for hot sauce and chopsticks. At first when I saw her talking to a customer commentting on how "Your little boy's grown so tall!" and "How's your father?", I thought she personally knew them, but realized soon that they were just "regulars". It was nice to see that she remembered so much about her customers and did not just service the food and take your money. However, sometimes if there is only one waitress, there is a slight lack in service as the waitress seems to be running in and out the kitchen often.
Nice, clean setting and very good lighting- combination of natural light, fluorescent, mirrors, and spotlights. Good for just one person or with a whole family.
The food was decent to pretty good depending on which chef made it. After talking to the waitress, I found that there was one regular chef and another that was often switched, so I always request for the regular chef to cook my food. Range of selection and willing to make changes (e.g. no MSG or not spicy) for the food. If you want changes to set dinner, though, you may have to pay the difference if you are substituting for a more expensive dish.
Overall very nice place for dinner.

Eat Here With a Big Group
Submitted Sunday, June 17, 2007 - 1:21pm [Dine in]

The first time I had food here, it was with a large group of people. We had lots of fun and service was pretty good. One of the ladies consistently called my friends and I by "pretty girl" and "pretty boy" as I heard her address everyone by.

The second time, however, I came with only one other person. The service was not as good this time and once we were finished eating and paid, we could not even stay sitting for a moment longer because the lady told us "we need you off this table now"; which I think was very rude as if they didn't need us anymore because they had already gotten our money.
