Since I became aware of Earl's though this site, I feel compelled to write about the experince, although I typically vote with my feet. Maybe, this was once the premier Steak House in this area, howvever, there must be better, much better in a city this size. My 12 once New York had sections that were unedible due to gristle. I won't try to describe the paltry serving of tasteless vegetables that accompanied the meal.
The only bright spot was the service which was extremely good.
I'd almost give it 4 stars for value as the meals are decent, cheap, and portions large. We couldn't even quite finish our basic lunches. I would have given 5 stars if the place bigger and have more spaces for people to relax...
Ambiance isn't much, pretty simple hole in the wall, biggest issue is it's just a bunch of tables crammed together in a room.
I like this view, we can walk to the beach in 10 second to enjoy dinner....The food first of all was without a doubt top notch. I had the prime rib,. It was perfectly done, flavorful, of a large portion and could compare with the finest prime rib I have had anywhere in North America. The tiger shrimp which accompanied the prime rib were plump and flavorful as well. The remainder of the order including the French onion soup and salad were outstanding. I would say that the food in West Vancouver on the evening of 28 Mar 2009 would rank with the finest at any steakhouse in the Greater Vancouver area.
My boss ordered the Seafood combo, it was fresh and tasting.
Run away from this place and don`t look back
We stumbled across this restaurant while looking for something to eat on the strip on White Rock beach.
Walking in, the restaurant looked half-empty and took a few minutes before we were greeted to be seated. We asked presumably the owner for a window seat inside (being that we were beachside) and we were grumpily led to the patio instead without a smile where he plopped down the menus.
This was a very sour dining experience and I would not recommend this restaurant to my worst enemy.
Was a favourite
This was one of my top sushi places in surrey to go to (it's great for going for a movie right after, or taking a walk in green timbers), but one day i decided to order take out, and alaska roll and salmon sashimi. Kind of forgot about it but went back not too long ago and was very impressed that they had not lost their touch. The food was great and certainly within the top few Japanese restaurants in Surrey.
Yes I agreed, they are “Horrible service, missing ordering, and expect tips? No way”. eating here is kinda like fried chicken - the 1st bite is good and then it's all downhill from there. as a matter fact - it is difficult to discern the delicate tastes that truly good sushi embarks. there's also the likelihood of OVER-consumption
The service is pretty atrocious, even for all-you-can-eat. Staff is usually running back and forth and they constantly need to be reminded regarding orders, requests for refills and even the bill. With all that stress on the floor, not mentioning the sometimes rowdy customers they have to deal with they can be pretty sour
I've been here many times before and I gotta say, each time gets a little worse. Was there for lunch today, had the salad roll and a bowl of pho as did my mom. The soup was really good I thought which is what I go by at a Pho place, but the beef, tendon, tripe etc. weren't too good, not the greatest quality. I've been coming here for a few months and it's still pretty good compared to some other Pho restaurants but just not as good as it used to be.
