(3.3) (3.5) (3.5) (3) (3)I went there with a group of friends on a Sunday evening about one hour before closing. There were some people on the patio but no one inside. The staff was very friendly and attentive but the place smelled a little funny and was littered with fruit flies everywhere from around the bar to in the bathroom. YUCK! The guys outside were mean mugging us the whole time that we were there so we decided to leave. A shame really.
I use to complain all the time about living in New West and having nowhere cool to go but Schanks came to the rescue. Now it may not be that easy to get in and out of but when you are there, man is it worth it. New West is known from having grimey hole in the ground type pubs but this takes a modern clean look and drops it in our back yard. There is so much to do: golf, pool, gamble, DRINK! The food is above average for a bar and I bet there is no where better to watch an event.
