I have eaten here twice, and both times I have been satisfied with my meal. The first time I had the chicken souvlaki and just yesterday had the NY steak.
I asked for my steak rare and got it borderline blue rare. It was underseasoned but only slightly. It comes with parboiled then sort of roasted potatoes, some slivers of garlic bread and some green salad. The salad was nice and fresh, but the potatoes tasted slightly old. The bottle of vinaigrette that they provided us helped with that for sure. Slightly unsatisfactory potatoes is a small price to pay for $11 steak dinner!!
I also had the tzatziki and pita appetizer. That was good. Not too much garlic and the pita was thick, hot and fresh. very nice.
My boyfriend had the mozza burger and that was pretty good too. Big burgers for $11.
All around good place. You have to expect some level of dissatisfaction at that price and for a small business. They get it right where it matters though.
I have had both take out and dine in from Sehmi sushi.
I prefer take out, especially when they are busy, because the service falls behind quite significantly.
I am afaid to order anything too adventurous from this place, especially because I got BONES or fish parts in my spicy tuna roll and scales in my salmon roll. Some of the fine detail is missing.
The chefs stay back and do not really interact with the customers.
Overall the basic rolls (avocado, chicken teriyaki, salmon, california) are good and well-priced. They also have some special rolls (crazy roll) which are all pretty decent.
Overall good but not great.
Best sushi in Langley BAR NONE!
I have ordered almost everything on the menu and have always been downright impressed!
Even the more adventurous can enjoy the sushi here. I order the Chirashi don and I have never been disappointed.
The chef greets the customers, the little details are all in place, the tea is perfect, the ambiance is great, and the food is AMAZING!!!!
GO HERE!!!
I used to live right around the corner from this place and I ate there a handful of times. Their rolls are reasonable, especially the yam tempura roll and those type. I had a few sketchy experiences with nigiri and spicy tuna roll, so order carefully especially when it doesn't look busy in there. I prefer Top Sushi down the road from this one.
The value for money is fine - this place is not overpriced. The service is average, but the staff is reasonably friendly and courteous. No complaints there.
The california rollers will love this place, but adventurous types beware.
When I worked in Sapperton, I used to go here all the time. They always remember me and sometimes gave me some bonus items.
The food is consistent and very delicious. It rates in the top 5 sushi I've ever had. For the California roll crowd this place is perfect. For the adventurous sushi eaters, I would recommend ordering with care, but I've never been disappointed. I have only once had salmon nigiri that was not super fresh, but it was still good.
I definitely recommend this place!
