Harold's Bistro & Bar7551 Westminster Hwy, Richmond
Best Experience in 40 Years
Submitted Sunday, March 15, 2009 - 5:49pm [Dine in]

What a surprise and in Richmond of all places! The three of us, experienced travellers from the US, China, and Scotland are fuss budgets. We eat out three times a week, 52 weeks of the year. Harold's, only open for two weeks, was a delight. As our senior member stated, "The Best Dam Meal I Can Remember Having, anywhere in the world." The squash soup was superb. The Black Cod amazing, Fresh Tuna superb, Liver and Onions mouth-watering. Service was 5 Star from the hostess to the waiter. This new venue is a must go for discerning diners. The ambience created by the beautiful interior was completely and utterly relaxing. Well done. Whatever you do keep your Chef. He/she is worth their weight in gold!

We're Going Back
Submitted Sunday, October 26, 2008 - 4:16pm [Dine in]

Take three people, one from the USA, one from China, one from Scotland and try to figure out where they might dine out together and still want to go back. It is even more challenging when one of them is an 'expert' to the extreme, eating out as they do seven days a week, one of them likes primarily Chinese food, and the less said about the one from Scotland the better. We decided to take a gamble on the Elephant&Castle in Richmond. The building looked nice and it had a view of the water. The food was excellent, well presented, with first-rate service, and the price was reasonable. The proof of the pudding is that we are going back next week. Highly recommended!

A Great Lunch
Submitted Monday, March 31, 2008 - 5:11pm [Dine in]

The three of us, two men, and a woman, were looking for a relaxing restaurant in Gastown to have lunch, when Sitar was recommended for its food and quiet atmosphere. Not being one enamored with Indo cusine, I relunctantly went along. The food, chicken curry was excellent, the service was first class and I particularly enjoyed the quiet atmosphere. Reasonably priced ($49.00 for the three of us, I will definitely be going back in the near future
