When I mentioned to friends that we were going here the first comment from more than one person was "the food is good but not worth the money." After our meal last night I agree.
Two of us had wine and I agree with other reviewer about the markup on the wine and the limited selection for bottles under $100. My cauliflower soup was tasty but very mildly flavoured. The scallops that several of us ordered as our mains were incredible. Probably the best I've ever had. However, again agreeing with other reviewers, my husband's steak was too fatty for his taste.
I didn't mind the minimalist ambience but I wouldn't say it either added to or detracted from the meal. Although the service was outstanding, being both efficient and unobtrusive, I would have to agree with people who've said that this restaurant is not worth the prices. I'm willing to pay a lot for a fabulous dining experience but I wouldn't say that this restaurant quite gets there. It's not a good sign when you're remembering the bill, not the food, the next day!

Three of us decided to try this restaurant, having heard good things.
The food was excellent, especially the edamame wrapped in filo appetizer with dipping sauce, which was delicious. My halibut curry, which was on special, was delicious and the other entrees (lamb curry and pad thai) were also great, as was the side of naan. Our server was very friendly and the food arrived promptly.
The restaurant is pretty dark for a sunny evening and the menus are getting a little worse for wear, hence the lower ambiance rating. And despite enjoying our meals, all three of us agreed that the portion sizes are a little small considering the price. I would definitely recommend this place, though, as a good choice on the Drive if you're not starving.

Four of us went for a pre-movie dinner last night and then returned for a post-movie bottle of wine. I have been to this restaurant several times in the past and always found the food to be decent, if unspectacular. The focaccia bread is very tasty. Last evening I enjoyed my spinach salad with maple sesame dressing.
Unfortunately, I will not be returning due to the rude and abrupt service. At dinner, our server INTERRUPTED my request for a glass of house wine with "we don't have house wine" in a "what an idiot you are for asking for it" tone of voice. When I expressed some surprise at this, since there are four types of house wine listed on the wine list, he again interrupted with "we don't have house wine" and no further explanation. I don't think I've ever been spoken to that rudely in a restaurant. Then, when we returned after the movie to have a quick drink before going home (it was about 9:30pm), we were met at the front by another rude staff member who made us feel completely unwelcome. It's fine to inform us that the restaurant closes at 10pm, and that last call was happening but my impression was that we were inconveniencing him by having the audacity to show up at the restaurant. If you don't want people coming in after a certain time, lock the doors. Once seated, our actual server was friendly, but my overall experience here was not a good one.
If this restaurant had to rely on service, rather than proximity to the theatre, to attract customers, it would fail miserably.
