I had lunch there the other day.
The food was all processed, and greasy. My fries were overcooked. My pop was flat, the service was slow, and I think if my server had smiled at me, her face would have cracked and fallen off. The food was over priced and cheaply made. The glow of the neon lights and the glare from the bigscreen tv they sat me in front of gave me a headache, not to mention having to sit through an MMA fight on tv, watching a guy get his face smashed in while I'm trying to eat my lunch. Wow, I don't understand why I went to a restaurant named after a cat and a mouse in the first place. At least I know that when the Cancuks are playing I can get a coffe at the BK across the street and watch the TV at Tom and Jerry's from there. Thumbs down, way dow.

I went to the Slocan after reading about how good it was on Dinehere, and I was not dissappointed. I had their Roast Turkey Diner. It was in fact outstanding. It came with a very fresh starter slad, the main course, and then desset to top it off. I even had a bottomless pop with a couple of refills for under 15 bucks! Had I gone to one of the more trendy places I wound`t have gotten Turkey diner, and it would have cost me at least 30 bucks. What a deal! The service was very good, friendly, intelligent staff. The restaurant owner even came to our table to ask how our meal was. These people really care about their customers. My date had their Beef Stew. She was very impressed also. The atmosphere is good. Very warm. Satellite radio playing music you wouldnt hear on any local stations. I`ll recommend it to all of my friends. Don`t expect scantilly clad servers, fresh sheets, suits and ties. Just really good home cooked meals, great prices, friendly service, and a great atmosphere. Momotron must have been having a bad day. I suggest Cactus Club for you my friend. Go pay twice the price for crappy fool, lol.
Slocan is the best in East Van! No nonsence, it`s the real deal.
