We happened upon this restaurant the other day and will not again. The food was disappointing. The chicken was the frozen seasoned variety, the noodles were undercooked and the sauce was either overly salty or sweet. The prices were not worth it either for the product delivered. It seems like they have tried to copy The Noodle Box but have not succeeded. Over $10 for a plate of noodles with prepackaged sauce, vegetables and frozen meat is not worth it at all because it didn't taste good.
On a good note the staff is nice and the place is nice.
Usually change is for the good but not in this case. The food has gone downhill from being a very good dim sum restaurant to a poor restaurant. Friends of mine just dined at the former Chef's new restaurant yesterday and said it was very good.
The deep fried food is not done well, overcooked and oily. The chicken feet taste stale.
I've enjoyed the Tomato at their previous location and loved the ambiance and food. Their new location on Bayswater is more hip than its previous down home location. Our wait and dinner took a very long time (over 1 hour wait and 2 hour dinner) but we suspect it's because they just weren't in the swing of it yet. Food took a very long time to come out and it does say on their menu that good food take time but a table near us that was seated long before us still waited an additional 1/2 hour plus after we sat down for their caeser salads. Overall we enjoyed our dinner. Great bread. The food was very good except the sauce for the steak was quite salty. I do look forward to going back to enjoy their turkey sandwich for lunch.
I've been to Feenie's twice and I can't wait to go back. Each time I say I'm going to get the burger but I end up getting something else because the size of it is intimidating. The guests that I'm with did order the burger and said it was delicious and I must agree with the tasting I had. The caeser salad is perfect and she short ribs melted like butter. The fries are crisp and dip a perfect match.
My husband loves this place because you can get a drink and a meal for under $7 at breakfast and lunch. The best thing is that you can get a cold drink at no extra charge. Breakfast is the standard of 2 eggs, bacon (or some other breakfast meat) and toast (or a Chinese style bun) plus you can add a Hong Kong touch to your breakfast by adding a soup noodle dish.
The ambiance is nothing special but your typical Hong Kong style cafe. The menu is diverse with a Malaysian influence.
Crispy, fresh and tender calamari is a good sign of a good Greek restaurant and that is Mad Greek. The platters are a great value and allow you to try a variety of items. I'm not a big fan of domaldes but these ones are good. The tatziki is nice and thick and the chicken is tender.
The service was fine and the pork and preserved egg congee was okay but everything else was disappointing. The tobiko on the sui was orange gluten possibly or some type of sponge. We tried some different dim sum items but couldn't find the listed ingredients in them.
