Some Delicious Casual Fine Edibles
Submitted Tuesday, August 5, 2008 - 7:04pm [Dine in]

I tried the brunch at this gallery place a month ago and had been planning to go back when I found on their website they're now doing dinner. The menu is very limited but the food was exceptional, especially for the price. It wasn't very busy when we went for their dinner so it was a nice surpise to find everything was freshly made. I had the medallion of filet mignon at $14 and it was cooked precisely medium rare the way I like it and the sauce with wine reduction was tasty if not a tad bold. I sampled my partner's summer pasta entree and it was a nice chilled dish al dente. The strawberry dessert was a fresh and slightly decadent way to finish off dinner. The gallery venue is turning out to be a great place for some casual fine edibles. The service was friendly and attentive.

I Like It!!

The service, the food, the ambiance were all exceptional. The waiter was always attentive and didn't miss a beat. The mussels were perfect in the white wine broth and I would have slurped it all up if no one had been looking :) The ceasar was fresh and crisp and the veal scallopini was prepared just right with a sauce that was flavourful but not over done. All round we went away feeling great about our dining experience at Don's. This could turn into a favourite of mine.

Wow - not too bad

I'm not a brunch person normally but wow, I didn't know eggs Benedict could be so could delicious and I've now become a brunch person! My friend invited me to the opening on the weekend and it was a very pleasant, beautiful, and probably the most unique restaurant location - it's inside a large gallery at the front with a dozen or more seats. The seating was comfortable, lots of natural light, and off to the right side of the front gallery counter near the kitchen, the chef was prepping at the front. I've never been to anything like it before and I will be definitely going back to try some other brunch items. The service was a bit slow but for an opening they still did a great job and so many things made the trip worthwhile.

Outstanding Casual Dining Japanese Food
Submitted Wednesday, April 30, 2008 - 1:30pm [Dine in]

This place is continually packed when I go. The food is very good especially for the price. They have a beef/chicekn bento box for $7.95 and it's probably the best bento box for the price in the lower mainland. The ebi sunomono is fresh and packed with shrimp etc and comes close to being a meal in itself. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place for a very good quality Japanese food eatery.

I'm not sure what all the hoopla is here. Nice restaurant but didn't seem particularly outstanding. Service and setting had a tad of sophistication. I understand that this is a southern region Italian restaurant with smoky flavors but for most people I think they would consider the food having been burnt.

One of the Best Greek Restaurants
Submitted Thursday, April 17, 2008 - 5:39pm [Dine in]

I'm surprised no one has reviewed this restaurant yet. I think it's the most consistent quality Greek restaurants around on the West Side. The decor is good, service is pleasant and attentive, and draws a good number of patrons for the locations they're in. The menu is the standard one for Greek but it's well done.

Nice Cozy Restaurant
Submitted Thursday, April 17, 2008 - 5:30pm [Dine in]

The food is respectable but not over the top. The restaurant has been around for a number of years. If the food was that great there would be
a lineup since it only has 16 or so seats.

Service and attention was outstanding and many restaurants could learn from them.

Price was very reasonable and the servings were large. If you like the combo of those two things, and some some great service from a cozy little restaurant, this is the place. Worth visiting every now and then.

I'm not sure how any person could rave about the food. French cold cuts, cheese, slices, bread that was so so. If you enjoy wine then you will like the joint despite the grocer food.

Trendy and creative setting is it's forte but people will get bored of the place. I noticed they had reserved table signs all night moved from table to table but without people actually filling in the reservation. On a Saturday they were making themselves much more in demand then they are.

If you want to go to some place different, a bit trendy, and love wine - this is the place. If you want more then just wine and a bit of trendiness in the venue there's many other places to check out.

Took a date there. Expected at least decent Italian dishes in a respectable looking restaurant in Yaletown. Wasn't busy when we went, the service was poor and the whole attitude to food and service seemed to be one of indifference. If they were swamped, and there food was outstanding, and they had to beat away mobs of people trying to get a seat at the restaurant, their indifferent attitude would be the course. However, they have a long, long way to go.
