Went here for my wife's brother's birthday and had a good time. It was a genuine FUN restaurant. There was funny crap all over the walls, my nephews had a blast being allowed to color on the tables.
I had the ribs (stellar) my wife also had the ribs and we both couldn't stop eating! great food, finger licking, and oh my goodness, the baked beans were delish. we had an overall drunken birthday celebration and I'd definitely like to go back.
I've been here after work with co-workers several times and have never been overtly impressed.
The wings were awful. Unnecessarily coated in flour (i hate floured wings beyond words), caesar salad was terrible, and their appie platter is nothing but a pile of greasy fried foods. It's pretty bland. Even for pub grub.
Clearly they have a very lazy 'chef' because i've sent food back on three occasions and nothing seems to change.
Positive notes, decent burgers and the BEST priced breakfast you'll find anywhere else of huge quantities. Perfect hangover cure.
Went here after work with some co-workers and was pleasantly surprised.
Upon our trek up the street we were greeted with the amazing aroma of garlic; always a great sign.
I ordered their house red as I was in the mood for pasta. Their house wasn't overly amazing but not bad. I've had worse. Both friends chose the souvlaki - one lamp, one chicken. Both thought were pretty solid dishes. I, however, chose the meat canneloni. O.M.G.! Soooo good. This dish came with 3 hugely stuffed logs and I could only make it through about 3/4 of ONE piece. The other 2.25 of my dish made a lovely, huge, lunch the next day.
Not just quantity, but quality too.
Next time, we're thinking of ordering appies (because of the quantities) and gorging on desserts.
The desserts looked fantastic.
I've passed this place a million times but it wasn't until an anniversary that I decided to take my wife. From the outside, it doesn't look too appealing or visually forthcoming but once inside, it truly is a gem.
I ordered the prawn souvlaki, my wife had the lamb and we shared an order of the fried feta (come on, fried cheese? it doesn't get better)
The staff must be family operated because they had so much passion about making each guest's experience amazing.
We will definitely be going back.
It's too bad. I'd heard good reviews but the food was dismal and the place looked dirty!
From the beginning, it was clear that my friend had little sushi experience outside their comfort zone.
I had a salmon roll, dynamite roll and two pieces of ebi nigiri. They hadn't cleaned the ebi so i refused to eat it but they wouldn't take it off of our bill!
I won't be making the trek back to this place ever again.
This was a lovely little restaurant. I've tried several different rolls and each were consistently good.
One of the nicest things about this restaurant is that it's licensed with a full bar- a trait hard to come by in most sushi restaurants.
The sashimi is very fresh and served at a perfect temperature. A great meeting place for dinner dates with friends and loved ones.
Down side : No parking! There's some street parking but very limited and the parking across the street at Royal Centre is monitored. I got a ticket once because the parking attendant saw me park my car and walk across the street to the restaurant.
Started off with me trying to order a beer. I asked her to name what they had on tap and she rattled off a list excluding my fave :( So I ordered my number 2 only to hear her mention my #1 to the table next to me. Learn your beers!
My wife ordered a ceasar but they used tomato juice instead (bloody mary) which isn't what she ordered at all.
THe food was okay I suppose. Actually tasted a million times better the next day for leftovers which was a pleasant surprise.
Positive: The view is amazing at night! The bridge looks fantastic and the place feels like a pub from a tv show.
Will we go back? Not anytime soon I don't think. Not unless they issue coupons or something to try and make an effort.
Great food and a great date location.
The chef even came out and mingled with the diners to see how they enjoyed their meals. We felt like we were in a movie or something!
It's decent pasta with a pretty good wine list too. Not Italy by any means, but a million times better than the Spag. Fact. or Olive Garden.
We'll definitely go back.
First of all, AMAZING.
Great prices, HUGE quantities, friendly staff, fresh ingredients, quick service and overall a great product for your money.
I work at the Royal Columbian & I go here all the time on my lunch breaks and I don't want to go anywhere else for sushi other than Blue Fin - and I'm from Surrey!
Try it, you won't be disappointed.
Tip: Don't go in large numbered groups because there isn't a whole lot of seating.
