Defies logic
Submitted Thursday, August 26, 2010 - 12:03am [Dine in]

This a a place tha defies logict . It opened to zero fanfare ad has just climbed since then. I have been there so many times, they are always accomodating, and committed to doing their food well. They do not try to be anything they are not. If you are going try their dessert, it is awesome. The gingerbread pudding to to die for.

Good times

Went to SOCIETY in Yaletown, food was great. Classic comfort food done better then momma use to make. I had the grilled caesar salad my wife the mac and cheese balls to start and they were both very good. Who would have thought macaroni and jalepeno's with cheese breaded and deepfried. Awesome! For Mains we had the beef ribs and Kobe Meatloaf both were really really good. The rib meat fell off the bone with this lovely smokey bbq sauce and the meatloaf was light and fluffy and had the best wild mushroom gravy.

The Chef obviously knows exactly what to do with food here and although this is comfort food they can cook. For dessert the Junkfood platter has many little treats including rice crispy squares and cotton candy, my personal favorite!

Nt bad, not bad at all
Submitted Monday, August 23, 2010 - 12:37pm [Dine in]

I haven't been to an Earls for awhile now , and was pleasantly surprised by the amount of choices on the lunch menu and how far they've come from a few years ago, especially with the decor.

Thought the food is not "outstanding", so I can't rate it a 5 but I would say it's better than a 4. The large leather chair was comfy and the service was pretty good and as expected. No complaints there. I ordered an asian stir fry (can't recall what it's called) but it was pretty good... comparable to Wild Rice.

Good service great restaurant

We have been here a few times already, and really like the place for drinks, eventhough its quite expensive here.

The food is pretty good, but would not suggest coming here for dinner, b/c they have a small menu. Service is really good, the wait staff are very friendly and attentive every time we go.

The atmosphere is always lively and loud, so its a nice place to go to for drinks.

This lounge is a lil' expensive, but we would definitely come back b/c of the nice ppl and vibe of restaurant.

PHAT is a must stop spot when in Yaletown
Submitted Friday, August 20, 2010 - 10:51pm [Dine in]

You'll spend a good few minutes just trying to grasp the large menu which fills two full walls of the small eaterie, from chef salads to smoked meat sandwiches, this place has enough to satisfy everyone.

The salads all come in a huge silver bowl that will leave you fully content, and the sandwiches are stacked so high that any more meat or veggies would make it topple right over, and everything is made fresh right in front of you.

The place is always jammed tight around lunch hour every day, so make sure to go before noon or after 2 if you just want to sit down and relax over a nice big meal.

PHAT is a must stop spot for anyone in the area, with a big appetite of course

Thai palace

Love to find new places to eat and drink around town. Took my girlfriend last week to a Thai place friends told me about. Old location of another restaurant but can't recall the name. We both liked the place a lot. Cool vibe and decor - intimate and hip which is what we're into. Served tapas aps which we liked a lot. Duck sticks were awesome. Raviolli and short ribs were pretty good, too for dinner. High end but fair pricing and good service. Would go again for sure for another "date night".

Great restaurant
Submitted Tuesday, August 17, 2010 - 1:08am [Dine in]

Excellent service for a tiny restaurant in the heart of Edgemont village. When I asked about which wine I should order our waiter brought me out 2 small samples to taste to help us decide. We were givien a tiny complimentary appetizer and some yummy homemade foccacio bread with a balslamic dip. We order a ceasar salad with a home made dressing. the salad was quite good, we also had a clam appetizer in a sundried tomato, pesto suce.it was very good. for the main courses my husband had the Newyork steak. It was quite tastywith a unique taste on top[I am guessing sme kind of cheese like blue cheese plus a peppercorn sauce. I had a crab and shrimp pasta dish. it was very good. We had a lady constantly bring us fresh water, our waiter checked on us many times. The atmosphere was very nice. The place is dimmly lit so if you have trouble reading a menu like we did, bring some reading glasses with you,or a tiny flashlight! apparently on friday nights they have live entertainment,so i am looking forward to going again to check that out. I definetly thougth this place had class and great service. I recommend trying it! Nice place for a special meal. I would not bring your children though, too small of a place and more adult oriented.
