Awful food
Submitted Wednesday, June 1, 2011 - 12:04am [Dine in]

I went in for Filipino dinner, found out it is cafeteria self-serve style; however, the price is not. For $8.5 (plus12% tax), I got a small chicken thigh (thigh only, not leg), a tiny nappy dish of stir fry beef with onion, and a scope of rice. The meat was super salty and greasy- a thick layer of oil on the dish, it was so salty that I could not eat at all. I should have asked for a refund. Would never go back to such a horrible place.

Food and service are perfect everytime I dine there. I had the Citrus Cured Hamachi, Duo of AAA Prime Beef, and Hot and Cold Tiramisu Sundae. Though this is not the first time I had this menu, but I absolutely love the food. It is really sad to see it closes this week. It has been my favorite restaurant, and I go there to celebrate special occasion. The dining experience is personal and attentive. It leaves with fond memories everytime. Also, they have a little stand for ladies to place the handbags; very thoughtful. Maitre d' & Sommelier, Drew, is wonderful. He is friendly, professional, and always has a great smile!! Thanks for the great dining experience for the past few year!!

Disappointing
Submitted Friday, March 4, 2011 - 12:49am [Dine in]

I had foie gras brulé, beef tenderloin, and a chocolate molten cake.
The foie gras and chocolate cake were good. The beef tenderloin was medium rare, was cooked to perfection. However, the sauce and the crust of the beef was really salty, so as the mushroom, overpowering the meat taste. I had to trim off the crust in order to taste the beef. My friend been there many times at different gatherings with different people, and had heard the same comment about the beef tenderloin- too salty. Perhaps the chef should consider adjusting the flavor. It's a beautiful restaurant, food is affordable, but the quality is just average.

We went to Jules for early dinner recently as recommended by a friend. It's not in a nice area, but the restaurant was packed with people on a week night. It's a cozy and nice restaurant. Steak was very good, and the melting chocolate cake was memorable... it was the best one I had!

Consistently good!

We went to Morton's last Saturday night for a celebration dinner. We had oysters and steak tomato as appetizers. The oysters were sweet and fresh, so was the tomato. The blue cheese dressing was very tasty and flavourful but not salty. We ordered porterhouse and double cut filet mignon, medium rare. I have to say they were absolutely perfect and delicious. Everyone must have the Morton’s soufflé for dessert. It is the best in Vancouver. The texture and sweetness were perfect, others don’t even come close. I've been to Morton's a few times and I've to say the food is consistently good, and I always get attentive service.

No good- agree!

There were quite a few empty tables, but my friend and I were told no seat available in the dining room cause those were all RSVP. When we left, there were still empty tables. We had to seat with all the smokers in the patio. Service was not good. Waiter and waitress were not familiar with the menu, and they were clumpsy- things dropped on the floor, and we even seen hot drinks spilled onto a customer at the next table. Suishi dish was good, but yakisoba was really really salty. I have been to this restaurant a few times, and the sevice is consistently bad and slow.

bad George
Submitted Saturday, October 8, 2005 - 12:18am [Dine in]

As soon as I heard about the Taste of Yaletown, I immediately thought of trying out George, as it is one of the new kids on the block. But the service of the hostess was really disppointing. She sitted two other pairs before my friend and me, even though we were there before them. When approached, the hostess explained it was probably because of misunderstanding. though my friend heard me loud and clear that we didn't mind sitting at the bar or a table. We left without waiting any longer.

This is the one restaurant I go often. The food is consistently good-- flavorful, tasty, not salty, and not greasy. My friends and I just love the food, the service and the view. Keep up the good work!! (also thanks for the entertainment coupon!)
