Incredibly expensive
Submitted Thursday, June 5, 2014 - 11:37pm [Dine in]

Food was ok, but very small portions. You have to order and pay for rice and naan bread separately for your entree This turned out to be extremely costly. We should have taken the hint when we saw the restaurant was completely void of customers on such a busy day at the beach. Won't bother ever going back. Go there if you have money to burn

Poor service, rude manager
Submitted Friday, January 6, 2012 - 10:02pm [Take-out]

Recently one morning, I was waiting to place my order at one of the drive through intercoms (there are 2 at this location). There were no other vehicles around, but there was a bit of a queue at the pick up window. I waited there at least 5 minutes. Another vehicle pulled up to the intercom beside me and proceeded to have their order taken. Finally, someone came on the intercom to take my order. When I told the person taking my order that I had been waiting long before the other vehicle had pulled up, basically I was told "Sorry, but too bad" When I got up to the window to pay, I asked the cashier (it was the same person who took my order) the name of the manager at this location. She replied "I am" I asked her if it was their policy to treat their customers so poorly, she just shrugged and said "whatever" I then replied that this would be the last time I ever go to that restaurant again. Again, the attitude what "So what"
You'll never see me at this McDonald's ever again.

Fast and friendly

If you want some very good, fresh and reasonably priced Japanese food I would suggest you try this place. The owner is actually Japanese. This is unusual as most sushi places are actually owned by Chinese or Koreans. There is a big screen TV in the restaurant which, whenever I go there, is always showing Sumo Wrestling. The service was excellent! Fast and friendly. I was surprized to be served a free, small appetizer of edemame as I had not ordered it. The sashimi was fresh and delicious and the rolls are very reasonably priced. All in all a great value for the money. I hope more people will try this new restaurant.

Retirement Party
Submitted Friday, November 28, 2008 - 12:07pm [Dine in]

We had a retirement party for a co-worker at this restaurant Nov. 26. There were approximately 50 of us attending, and there was another party of around 20 people going on at the other side of the restaurant. On our side of the restaurant we were packed in like sardines. not much room to move around to socialize with the rest of our group. I must say the place was beautifully decorated for Christmas. My chief complaint, though is about the service. Even though our party was booked well in advance, it did not appear that the management brought in any extra staff. I felt sorry for the who server was run off her feet and started to become rude with people when she was asked for refills of water, coffee or more pita bread. The choices we had for our meal included a salmon dinner, lamb dinner, spanakopita dinner or chicken, beef or lamb souvlaki. By the time the last of us were served our dinner, the first people served had finished their dinners at least an hour before. I waited so long for my salmon dinner that I was ready to chew the arm off the person sitting beside me! I heard there were only 2 cooks in the kitchen, but I didn't see for myself. We were served a small greek salad as a starter, and a basket of pita bread for our table. That was the best part of the whole meal! When my dinner finally arrived in front of me I found the salmon to be somewhat decent, but it was thrown on to the plate with some mushy bland rice and a couple of small chunks of over-cooked potato. Hardly appetizing at all. I ate the salmon and left the rest. Two people at my table ordered the lamb dinner and became ill after eating it. I will never, ever eat at this restaurant again, and judging by my co-workers comments, neither will they. A few of my co-workers say they are going to send a letter of complaint to the management about the food and service. I have thought about doing the same, but I think I will just move on, and hope that management will read this review. Next time we have a retirement party for someone, we will go to Andrea's on 56th Ave.

delivery take out
Submitted Thursday, March 15, 2007 - 10:41pm [Dine in]

Will never order food to be delivered from this place again. The delivery time was quick and courteous, but the food was so greasy that we couldn't even eat it. What a shame as this restaraunt has been in business for many years.
