A New Love for Indian Food
Submitted Saturday, August 7, 2010 - 5:30pm [Dine in]

I must admit that I'm not an expert when it comes to indian cuisine, but I know what appeals to my taste buds... and this place hits the spot each and every time!

I was brought here by a friend for lunch and this place is amazing. Attentive and friendly service from all of the staff and they gave you a feeling that they were pleased to have you as a guest. The ambiance was very comfortable and relaxing. The lunch buffet is made up of a few select dishes which are always fresh and full of quality. I love their herbed potatoes and paneer dish is very tasty.

I'll be sure to come again and I'll be sharing this little gem with all my friends. Thanks for an amazing lunch!

Nice Cafe154 East 8th Ave, Vancouver
My new place for Breakfast
Submitted Saturday, August 7, 2010 - 5:17pm [Dine in]

Well, I don't really think that you can mess up breakfast without really trying hard to screw it up. The Nice Cafe serves a great breakfast which isn't too greasy which I love. But the best part is the friendly and attentive service from their staff as well as the ambiance. Some people may not dig the authentic rough around the edges look but I love it. It truly feels like a little secret neighbourhood hideaway...

As well, the food is reasonably priced breakfast wise. No more having to pay $11 for a bacon and eggs when you damn well know that there is only $2.00 worth of food there. I think I remember breakfast being $5 and its pretty tasty!

Kadoya Japanese Restaurant1184 Denman Street, #202, Vancouver
Even Better than the Davie Street Location
Submitted Saturday, August 7, 2010 - 5:11pm [Dine in]

I'm a huge fan of the Davie street location but its has always made me feel a little crowded and the lack of a view is a bit of a downer. But problem solved; the Davie and Denman location has opened! A beautiful view in a more spacious space. Same amazing sushi, same great price!

I've always found the staff friendly, a little rushed at times but thats somewhat understandable since the place is usually packed.

Oh and my new found obsession; sashimi. Kadoya never lets me down with their fresh and high quality cuts of fish. See you tonight for dinner!

Delicious Donairs!
Submitted Saturday, August 7, 2010 - 5:06pm [Dine in]

I love coming to Donair Dude; sure the name is a little on the hokey side but they make an amazing donair and they use fresh ingredients. They also take the time to grill the donair which really helps with keeping it all together since it can get a little messy. The staff are always very friendly even if they are jammed pack (which is usually the case). And you have to figure that they are putting out a great product if there is still a small line up at 4 in the morning!

Another great thing; a large is only $6.00... enough meat there to give you the sweats!

Splitz Grill4242 Main Street, Vancouver
No more trips to Whistler!
Submitted Monday, October 13, 2008 - 12:44pm [Dine in]

Thank god a Splitz Grill has opened up here in Vancouver. A trip to Whistler for me was always incomplete without a stop at the Splitz Grill for one of their burgers.

What can I say, I believe that they blow Vera's and Fatburger out of the water even though I still think their burgers aren't too bad. The patties are always nice and juicy and done just right, toppings fresh and the splitz sauce just tops it all off.

Try it out, I'm sure you won't be disapointed!

Great Value in the Westend
Submitted Monday, October 13, 2008 - 12:37pm [Dine in]

This place has got to be the best value in the Westend by far....

Their sushi is delicious, and the rolls are generous in size. I can't get enough of the Chop Chop Scallop roll or the Spicy Tuna. Best menu is the specialty rolls though... creative and delicious! I'm a guy and I can only eat 2 rolls when I'm there since the rolls are so big. For me, a meal there usually costs around $7, $10 if I have a specialty roll. Only thing I can't comment on is the cooked dishes as I haven't ever had one from there.

The service is pretty good, the girls in there are quite busy but they always have time to come over and check on how things are and top up your green tea. I don't really know which nationality they are, and I don't really care since the sushi is great and their service is solid. Only thing that is annoying is that the dining area is very cramped... but then it seems that most places down here all have that problem.

Like I said, best value in at least Davie Villiage, if not the Westend!
