I love this place to begin with. It's been a while since I've gone in because I can't really afford it anymore. They Renovated the whole place which looks great. It was wednesday and I keep hearing about their comedy night so I gave it a shot. It was actually free like I heard and I was expecting open mic. I was pretty impressed. There was I think 5 or 6 comics and 3 of them I had seen on tv before. It was actually amazing. I do warn you though...don't take the kids to see this comedy. They do cross the line here and there and swear a little. It's one of the little secrets of north van that should be more known. It was packed but I had no idea it happens every week with different comics. I'll definatly be there next wednesday to check it out again. p.s. try the seafood linguini...it was delicious.
out of all the different earls restaurants this will always be my favorite. however last time i had possibly the worst service i've ever had at any restaurant. it took almost 10 mins to get my drink order in, and even though i was already ready to order my food she never asked me and i had to wait another 5 minutes to get my drink dropped off. she said she'd be right back and went and talked to a table that looked like her friends for 10 minutes then finally took our order. i had the salad i can't remember the name of but it was delicious and it came out pretty quick. my wife had a couple of appies that looked pretty good. but i'm getting sick of these chains because it's the small restaurants on the north shore that put in their best. i hope if there is going to be a next time their management has realized how terrible that server is and i can get some decent service again.
i went here for a bottle of wine cause i hadn't been in there before. it was too small and jammed together i thought. i sat in a small booth which barely had enough room on our table for our wine and appy. i've never been a big fan of food at browns but i can deal with it. i've had a lot worst. i had good service but i guess that can always change depending on who is actually serving you. i've had way more fun at local bar & grills
