this place is no great place, but for this kind of food, i did not expect much from it. the food had alot of msg in it. good value for the food, but lots of msg gave me a headache.

food is more like the dash and go food, food court food. not really my style, but had to come here to grab a quick bite.

no service at all.

value, is a bang for its buck for those whom are on a budget.

no ambiance at all,

dov2009 sub par

came here for dov2009, my girlfriend treated me here. this will be my second time round for dov as I came here for dov2007. The food back then was great.

This time round is a different story.

to begin, I love this place for the ambiance. very romantic setting, very nice decor.

The service was pretty good, but not what I would expect from a fine dining restaurant. had better service.

The food was great to begin with. The tuna carparcio was amazing. never had a wonderful dish like this. I could just eat on this the whole night. the entrees were not too impressive. , and the dessert was worth less than $1 and served on a $38 menu. I was very disappointed by the dessert. I had high hopes when the appy came. Sensational appy I would have to say so myself, my girlfriend even praised about the appy. Entree I do not want to say too much about. What shocked me was the dessert. the dessert composed of a doughnut with an ice cream on top of it. That was it! $38 for that? I could have gone to tim horton's got myself a dozen doughnuts and went to safeway to buy ice cream to make that dessert. Not impressed with that dessert at all, at least not on a $38 menu.

Would only come here for a romantic evening with someone special. Other than that, the dov menu was horrible.

This place was nice, nice carpet, nice walls, nice decor over all. Mind you I expected a lot from this place. The service was great. Greeting of us were great.

The ambiance was great, like a New York atmosphere. I really like the carpet, which was very comfortable to walk on.

Service was great too, everything was great about the service.

Food was a bit under par. It missed on my books somewhat. The ceassar salad I had was great, but the morton's garden salad was horrible. no taste to it. the entrees are fairly decent in size and the streak was great. Dessert was fabulous.

I would recommend people to come here to dine out, on special occasions.

I expected a lot from this restaurant. Was kind of disappointed Went here with my girlfriend for DOV2009. This is a wonderful place, we were seated right at the corner walkway of the kitchen. We can see the kitchen and all but traffic was busy where we were seated. I was not too happy to sit there, was hoping to have a quiet table for the both of us. There were other tables but I guess they have to meet quota for certain waiters or something. I do not know if the food on DOV is not as good or what, but both of our dishes were very very salty. I had like two pitchers of water. I thought it was me who had an off day or something, so I asked my girlfriend to see if it was salty. She too indeed said it was salty. We did not complain or anything, we are not that type of people.

The Ambiance was great, this place is a 5 star place to dine in at. Although the chairs might need a little working on. The chair I sat on felt like the legs were going to break. I am not a big guy.

Value depends on each person.

Service was decent or solid. I expected better service than what we received. Seems like the service at the other table was way much better as they ordered two bottles of wine and yet we did not order any. We were just served food and that was it and of course refilling our waters. Other than that it was non-existent. I thought that usually high end restaurants would scrap off the tables before the dessert was served, but here we did not get that.

Food was okay, not the best, I have seen better and it was salty.

I would come here for the experience, other than that I would not pay this much for sub-par food. I rather go to a certain place near the port.

The first time I came into this restaurant with a bunch of my colleagues, this place was packed. I didn't even know this place existed. I heard many great things from my colleagues in regards to this place. So, I had high expectations! All I can say is that the food, service, value, ambiance rating is all personal. Comparing Chinese restaurants to Chinese restaurants, I would say that this place is way better than other Chinese restaurants. The portion of the food was pretty big, the value was not bad. I would say that it is a tad on the high end, but this is downtown. After lunch, I was expecting that my mouth would be dry, but amazingly it wasn't. Just a note to all, some of the downtown Chinese restaurants are higher priced than this restaurant which I have been too. I wonder if this place is as busy/packed during the evening hours?
