Being a wonton house, their wonton is something that I have ordered quite a few times. Their wontons are not filled with shrimp where quite often the wonton does not even contain any shrimps. However their wontons are certainly cheap and the rest of their menu line up is in line with what used to be ordered for North Americanized Chinese food.
The taste is more geared toward non-Chinese where they have utilized more sweet and sour sauce and the likes. However there are also unlisted sauces/flavourings that you could get simply by asking the waiter/waitresses.
The food portion is quite nice, and can easily fill a family of 3 with just 2 plates of fried rice / noodles ordered. The place is getting a bit old though and could use a refurnishing, but otherwise is still decorated decently.
They have been around for a very long time and have gone through several refurnishing.
The service is always nice and food is solid. Their Ma Po Tofu dish is excellent, a taint of spice but not overly spicy while the tofu is cooked just right. Their fried chicken fillet dish is also done quite nicely, not overly greasy and a very nice crispy skin.
The portions are not that big, but suffice to fill a hungry stomach. There are also small side dishes and/or BBT to fill you up if you are really that hungry. The place is clean, ambiance is not bad with the new decors.
This is one of the more favored place for most of my friends and I, for their food, service and location. Parking can be easily found on the side and/or street parking. Getting a spot is never an issue here.
This place is selling a lot of their "deals" off different Groupon-like sites. Do not get fooled by those "deals" as the food is simply not worth it.
The service is mediocre at best, the ambiance is what you would typically be expecting of a Chinese dine out place. They have improved their decor a bit but now it feels more like that you are paying for the decor than the actual food.
For king crab eaters, this is not the place to be. They fake the weight of the crab and over state it by at least a good 4-5 lbs. Their food is prepared poorly and the soup we ordered tasted as if it was prepared prior and just reheated.
It is one of the most overpriced place that I have found lately. Definitely not worth the time and effort to visit. You have been warned!
4 other friends and I were searching around for a place where we can dine for the Alaskan King Crabs. We turned to this place thinking that since their other dishes are always done quite nicely, we'd give it a try after seeing that they had quite a bit of king crabs in their tanks.
My gf and I had been eating around at different places and some of the places were just so bad in faking the actual weight of the king crabs, but this place definitely is not trying add any weight to theirs! We got what we ordered and cooked nicely. The crab meat were some of the best that we have tasted this year (even compared to places thats almost 40% more expensive!)
The ambiance at this place is what you would typically expect from Chinese restaurants, its loud, its noisy and there's people looking at you waiting for a seat while you dine, but the food is definitely worth the experience.
On a side note, their wonton is also one of the best that I've tasted around town. I highly recommend a visit if you are in the neighborhood.
This place after all these years is still a nice place for cheesecakes. The pieces seem to have gotten smaller but still had enough of it (perhaps just the right size so that you dont start to hate it).
The toppings, I would still definitely go with no toppings or strawberries since the other ones seem a bit too sweet for me. The drinks are okay and the place's ambiance is still nice.
The food was definitely not fresh and we had to wait for over 45 minutes before our orders were filled. The dishes that the food were served on were also dirty with stains.
The service was okay at best. Value wise there are better.
After heard so much about it from friends, my own visit was really disappointing. Definitely a place that I will not be revisiting in the near future (minus the possibility that it undergoes a management change and refurnishing)
This is not the best place for all you can eat in terms of food, but packs a decent value.
The food is okay in terms of ayce. Service is decent and value during the weekday lunches are good. The place is not that clean nor has it been redecorated for a while.
Probably one of the easiest places to get access to ramen. The ramen is not top quality but is decent enough for revisits. The service there is what I am quite amazed at, usually there are only 2 waitresses who would wait the tables but you do not really experience long delays nor would they mess up your orders.
The value is decent at a place within Metrotown (considering their rent) and the ambiance is nice. A place that I would often like to revisit.
Food is about on par with the old location.
Service is quite bad as they messed up our orders and missed an order. Wait was ~30 min for a table during a Saturday night.
Bubbletea is quite overpriced (but as usual with most of the other fusion places)
Ambiance is not that great either, quite noisy and crowded.
Food selection is not huge at this location but most dishes are prepared with good quality ingredients. The food is not overly greasy or salty. One of the best places in Vancouver for TW fusion styled food.
The ambiance is also one of the reasons why I like to revisit the place and together with its fair pricing, this place is a place that I like to go with a few friends.
The service is mediocre at best however, it really depends on who is at the job at the day. Sometimes you would get lousy service from this place (which takes away from the food and ambiance in a way) but if you look past that, it is still a decent place to visit.
Decent restaurant, food is on par as pearl castle. Service is okay.
Value-wise, they have combos where you can enjoy some basic bubble teas with selected dishes. The ambiance was nice and quiet when I went. A nice place to have small groupings of friends to "chill" out.
