Good solid honest food, happy staff and decent prices.
The fish and chips were great, excellent fresh fish and crisp batter.
But my favourite is the burger - tender and juicy.
Everytime I'm there - admittedly usually saturdays after a hike - the place is packed, often a live band and a great atmosphere.
Although it has a couple of tables for lunchtime snacks this slightly hidden counter near the south side superstore is a great takeaway pizza.
A wide range of pizza made fresh in front of you, excellent ingredients and a proper pizza oven not a giant toaster machine.
Also slightly cheaper than the usual chains and does your local McPizza remember that you don't like one ingredient on your favorite pizza and leaves it off without asking.
If you are watching the cents they also sell the freshly made pizza to cook at home (no tax!)
Best value in West Van for sunday brunch ($10) or burger and home made fries ($15),
the poutine is also excellent. Although I haven't tried some of their more ambitious menu items.
It's a perfect location if you want a stylish restaurant setting in west van but also want solid comfort food. I have aways found the service quick and friendly
Best Greek on the northshore.
Order the lamb and watch it fall off the bones.
Even the pita tastes home made and delicious.
But don't plan on eating the day before, the portions are huge.
I wouldn't say the owner is unfriendly, it's not the breathless "himynameiscindyandillbeyourwaitressfortonighthowseverybodydoing...", but if you want that go to TGIfridays.
