Five Guys Burgers & Fries728 Main Street, #510, West Vancouver
The best burgers/value in town, hands down
Submitted Monday, June 7, 2010 - 4:47pm [Dine in]

We drive all the way from new west to eat their burgers, they are just amazing! all toppings/ingredients are really nice and fresh (and included!), their fries are incredible, juicy beef patties (they taste home made) and the bread they use is great. I'm not giving them much for ambiance, but is ok, is clean, but is a bit caffeteria style. Great value, great service and great products, what else can you ask for?

Pho Maxima Restaurant822 Twentieth Street, New Westminster
wonderful place
Submitted Thursday, November 26, 2009 - 11:11am [Dine in]

Is great to have this restaurant in New Westminster; the food is excellent, you can taste the freshness of their ingredients, their spring rolls are crispy, yet not too oily. Adding to the greatness of the food is the amazing service. Everything looks very clean, but they could still work in the ambiance department, is a little bare and there is too much light. This is one of those places where is very easy to become a regular.

Teahouse Restaurant, The7501 Stanley Park Drive, Vancouver
Wonderful ocean view
Submitted Monday, September 28, 2009 - 8:50am [Dine in]

My lovely hubby took me to The Teahouse for my birthday, and what a great experience! We have no complaints at all about the service, every person we encounter in this restaurant was respectful and very helpful. Ambiance is excellent, inside is nice, warm and cozy, and the ocean view is the best. Good appys, but I did not rate the food a 5 or even a 4 because i've had better; it was good, don't take me wrong, but I expected outstanding. They plated my cake beautifully.

This place has amazing stuff! is avery clean, neat place, everything is freshly made. They not only sell baked goods, they also make soups, and they are fantastic, I had a tomato bisque soup to die for, it tastes home maid and the price is not bad at all. I will absolutely come back for more. I hope this review encourages more peolple to drop by, this place deserves a chance.

Keg Steakhouse & Bar, The800 Columbia Street, New Westminster
My least favorite Keg
Submitted Monday, June 22, 2009 - 4:55pm [Dine in]

It doesn't even feel like the keg!!!! maybe i'm getting used to their nicest one on willingdon... went with friends recently, and my stake was overcooked, there were flies hovering over our dingy table on the very dark and stuffy second floor, the server never removed the menues (we had to remove them ourselves) as well as the dirty dishes; the table was really small for a group of 10, and we needed room! parking around the area is really bad. I would absolutely never go back in there, is just not worth it. If i could rate 0 for value, I would do it.

Very good dim sum
Submitted Tuesday, June 16, 2009 - 4:57pm [Dine in]

I have several chinese co-workers, and once in a while we go ther for lunch; food is great, there is a good variety, the food is usually served very hot and everything tastes fresh. One thing i really like, is that when it comes to dim sum, a group can easily get carried away and order way too much, but here they are kind enough to twl you you have order enough. Service is not that great, pretty basic, never a smile, and i have the feeling a lot of the servers don't even speak english (it's always been our chinese friend who deal with them). Ambiance is OK, parking is a bit hard.

Good stuff
Submitted Monday, May 11, 2009 - 4:02pm [Dine in]

Good pho, good spring rolls, and in general, good vietnamese food. Burgers... not so good... they are OK, but they use processed cheddar cheese, which ruins a burger for me. Service is very good, frindly and prompt. Good value too. Is not the best vietnamese i've ever had, but is good enough, and fills my vietnemese fix.

Ragazzi Pizza Co.2996 East 22nd Ave, Vancouver
Great Italian Pizza
Submitted Monday, April 27, 2009 - 4:43pm [Dine in]

Rating pizza joints is not my thing; some people like it thick, some thin, some like unusual flavors, etc. To me, there is nothing like authentic italian pizza, very thin crust, nothing crazy about the toppings, simple but perfect, and that is what Ragazzi delivers. If you like real pizza, you will agree with me. Service? excellent, those guys really make you feel like home. Ambiance is not 5 stars, but is not bad either, but is usually take out for me. Try it, is worth it!!!

Watered down Soy Sauce
Submitted Friday, October 17, 2008 - 6:42pm [Dine in]

yes, I know is cheap, sushi is ok for what you pay, as well as the service (is horrible, we almost have to beg for spoons for our miso soup and for the little dishes for the sauce) but the watered down soy sauce was a deal breaker for me; I'd rather pay a little more somewhere else, even at the food court inside metrotown.

Pajo's Fish & Chips12011 7th Ave, Richmond
I big waste of money and time
Submitted Wednesday, May 21, 2008 - 12:51pm [Dine in]

Pajo's is not our usual spot for fish and chips in steveston, but since we were already settled in Garry Point Park, we did not want to go all the way to the village to get them, plus, it was jam packed, so we wrongfully assumed it was good. First of all, we had to wait at least 40 minutes for our order of 3 large Cod fish and chips. When they finally arrived, we immediatelly noticed we have been ripped off; the pieces of fish were very small and completely tasteless, and the fries were cooked in what we think is very old oil, they tasted awfull and we could not eat them. We were left hungry and dissapointed. Needless to say we will not come back there ever, and we will warn everybody about this awful place.

Tsunami Sushi1025 Robson Street, #238, Vancouver
Disappointing service
Submitted Monday, April 7, 2008 - 11:44am [Dine in]

After a busy afternoon shopping at robson street, my friend and I decided to go for sushi, and not knowing exactly were to go, we decided to try Tsunami, since is fairly popular and all the signs of awards received by the place sounded promising. We were greeted at the door by a very un-friendly woman, who was clearly very tired of dealing with customers. We asked for a table for two, and she asked if we wanted the window or the bar, and since we were hungry we told her that id did not matter, whatever was faster was fine, as she reply that the bas was faster, so we sat down to wait. a group of three people came by and were seated, then a couple, and then one more couple, and they were all seated and ordering food, and we were still waiting! we asked the angry lady what was going on, and she keept angryily saying "but they are seated by the window, and you said you wanted the bar, and the bar is faster!" looking at us like we were stupid. not understanding what the problem was with the window (later we realized, is coverd by som construction stuff) and how come the bar was faster, we were finally told we could sit by the bar; I have to say, is the worst "service" i've received in a very long time. Now to the food: every single little dish of wasabi looked old, and as another reviewer mentioned, some of the dishes are absolutely unknown for the unexperienced sushi eater, and there is not a lot of people to ask questions to. Some of the rolls were ok, but some tasted like they have been seating there for a while. I can assure you, I've had better and much cheaper sushi at Fujiya, so the boat thing is just not worth it.

great sushi, fun market
Submitted Tuesday, April 1, 2008 - 5:28pm [Dine in]

Altough is boxed sushi, I thinks is pretty good. Very fresh, made on the spot, tastes good, and best of all, the prices are incredible. Not only their sushi is good, the sell other japanese foods too, plus they have the market, which is now my place in town to buy low sodium soy sauce, and other japanese favs. I am sure fujiya is better than many japanese restaurants, since the person who took me to fujiya for the first time is japanese, and she and her family cater their parties from them.

Expensive Pub Food
Submitted Tuesday, April 1, 2008 - 4:26pm [Dine in]

The food was good, but not outstanding, which is what I was expecting for the price I was going to pay, and all the good reviews I read. The service was lacking, again, maybe my expectations were too high. I would go there again for a good, relaxing time with friends after work, because the ambiance is fantastic, but there is room for improvement.

Vera's Burger Shack7999 Granville Street, Vancouver
An expensive piece of cremated burger
Submitted Tuesday, April 1, 2008 - 4:08pm [Dine in]

After haring over and over that Vera had the best burgers in town, We decided to try it... Big Mistake! Maybe they don't train their staff, but we witnessed the poor burgers being charred, along with the buns, and the onions. Huge flames covered everything, and inocently we thought "maybe that is their secret!". It was take out, and we live quite far from that vera; when we opened the bag home, we realized everything was burned indeed. We hat to throw away more than half of it. Only one thing I give to them: their onion rings are very good. Everything else, including service, can go in the trash along with my take out.

What can I say, I like their burgers
Submitted Tuesday, April 1, 2008 - 3:52pm [Dine in]

Since i've never had anything different than burger and fries there, there is not a lot I can say about their food in general, but I love their burgers. I have to say, I like them way better than Vera's (since they are not charred!); I always have a juicy, tasty burger, I don't have to wait too long, and I like their fries a lot. Even on very busy weekends, I find that the service is good. Ambiance is one thing I dislike; I find it too loud, but that does not keep me away.

Top Notch samosas
Submitted Wednesday, March 26, 2008 - 12:21pm [Dine in]

We love their samosas! good size, great flavor, they taste fresh and pricewise, they are still cheap; however, they raised their prices yet again, and now the veggie samosas are 70 cents. Still a good deal, but i hope they don't push it! Last time I went I picked up a take out menu, I would like to try more from there. This is absolutely a take out place, not only ambiance is poor and smell is strong, but I've noticed weird (and not in a good way) people that hang out in there. Off course there is also the group of friends sitting there eating dinner, but I would not stay there to eat my meal.
