(3) (3.3) (3.5) (3) (2.8)I really think this place deserves more than a 3 star rating, granted it is only a Pizza joint. But compared to Dominos or Panago. This place is MUCH better. I have been ordering here for almost 30 years. It is so good. Solid, Yummy Pizza. Family owned. They are always very nice and have never gotten our order wrong. If you ever need pizza delivered, try here. You will not regret it. Meatball subs are yummy!
We visited here because of the reviews and to be honest when we drove up I was wondering what my husband was thinking, a small little place situated in a residential area.
It was our 15th anniversary and we had already tried Matisse and was disappointed, so I did not know what to expect.
But the service was very good and the food was delicious. We would definately go back again.
After reading all the reviews I had very high expectations of Matisse. I ordered the escargot and the seafood rague because I had a big seafood craving. The escargot was tasty but not extraordinary. The seafood rague was a huge disappointment. The lobster was tough and either really over cooked or just of poor quality. My husband had the gravolox and the duck. The gravalox was fair. The duck was okay.
I have to say the owner was a funny character and very nice. We ordered dessert to go which he even put on the house so that was very kind.
Unfortunately, the food was just ordinary. It was our 15th anniversary and just not that memerable.
I live near Happy King and have frequented it on MANY many occasion. The service is ALWAYS bad. You just expect it. If you walk to the bathroom the floor is sticky and slippery like oil on tiles and you worry you will slip.
Today I came to this site looking for the phone number and laughed when I saw the bad reviews. It's a chinese restaurant. You almost never get service.
I told my husband to go down there today and pick up 2 congee, 3 beef brisket and 2 sticky rice wrap. He didn't want to wait so he called on the phone and picked up.
When he came home he had 1 congee 1 beef brisket and 2 sticky rice meals. At a cost of $37 00. He called and told them they had made a mistake and the lady on the phone insisted at no time did he order 2 congee or 3 brisket that he only ordered one. A
s a customer my husband said "No 2X I told you 2 CONGEE and 3 Brisket, and that we did not want the 25 dollars in rice cause what we really ordered was sticky rice wrap which is about $5 each.
The lady preceded to argue and said well what do you want me to do? My husband said he wanted her to fix the problem that we were still 2 brisket and 1 congee short and we would keep the rice even though we didn't want it. The lady on the phone said that we did not order 3 brisket and 2 congee and she did NOT make a mistake.
My husband then asked for the owner of manager. The lady then prompty HUNG UP on him.
So Happy King we put up with a lot of crappy slow service from you over the years since you are 3 blocks from my house but we will NEVER NEVER shop there again.
I advice people to visit any other chinese restaurant where they dont try and give you expensive food you didn't order and then deny they made a mistake and be hung up on.
Elements is a great tapas place up in Whislter. Cute inovative plates, with yummy drinks. A friend recommended it and we try and go every time we go visit. I heard it does a mean breakfast but I have yet to try it. Super service, reasonable prices, yummy food.
Granted it has been a while since we ate there, perhaps a year or two. But I had to add my review. My husband and I and another couple went to eat there thinking we were in for some fantatic seafood. We sat for an hour and no food came. They kept apologizing saying some Korean Basketball team had come in and they were really busy. When the food came my fish was extremly over cooked, my Husbands food extremly dry and over salted. My friend actually thought my fish was chicken it was so chewy. A friend of ours ordered crab and 20 minutes later they said there was none left and could she please order something else. We complained to the manager took the oysters off the menu we had for appetizers. But the bill was still about $200.00 for one of THE WORST dining experiances ever.
