Mr. Pickwick's Fish & Chips8620 Granville St, Vancouver
Good mushy peas

The fish and chips were good but why, where every you go, are they always such small pieces of fish! The batter is very good, crispy and not too greasy, but I'd prefer one larger peice of fish with less batter!

Friendly staff.

Decent Curry, although a little pricey

Having moved from England, we're always on the lookout for a decent curry. The Indian Oven is just that. Slightly pricier than other curry places we've tried, the Chicken Tikka Masala had all the right ingredients including lots of chicken!

The service could have been a little better, a bit slow and my plate was warmed but my partner's was cold.

The ambience wasn't great but we were there early on a Friday. The decor is nice although the room seems too large and feels a bit like a smart dining hall.

We've also had takeout from there which appeared to be a little oily.

Apart from that though, its the best Chicken Tikka Masala we've found so far on our Best of Indian Hunt!

Afghani Romance
Submitted Monday, October 31, 2005 - 11:51am [Dine in]

We had to go early on a Saturday night as it was fully booked later on.

The food was very tasty. We took the easy option and went for the special mixed platter for 2, at just under $45. The appetizers were breads with a tasty and incredibly fresh salad with some dips.

The main platter included tasty chicken and beef kebabs, cabbage roll, amazingly tender lamb and other Afghan delicacies. I don't think it was the healthiest of meals but it was scrumptious!

The setting, in the cushion room was intimate and romantic and perhaps the best part of the experience. It is a great setting for a romantic supper!

Take someone special!
