xiao long bao a must
Submitted Tuesday, May 20, 2008 - 1:23pm [Dine in]

In the quest for the best XLB outside of Shanghai, this is a good substitute since my regular place closed down sometime ago. Been here twice now, and the XLB's are pretty consistent and good. I can't say the same thing about the pan fried dumplings, the just lack that finish in the crispy bottom and the dough seemed a bit too chewy. Kinda disappointed in the Shanghai fried noodles, a staple next to the XLB. they came out with big pools of sauce. There were a lot of interesting looking food that was being served and i must try the next time. The Hot and sour soup looked good along with some sort of Tofu looking dish that was served in a fluted paper container.

xiao long bao a must
Submitted Monday, February 18, 2008 - 8:54pm [Dine in]

Since my usual haunt closed their doors, i've been searching for a decent xiao long bao. There are loads of places that try hard to make them but it's hard to make them good. Chen's does a decent job. Not sold on the pan fried dumplings, could have been cooked a bit longer for a crispy bottom.

they use an order form, and so they have both chinese and english, you have to ask for the english version.

back to the xiao long bao, they are listed as "Baiyuian steamed mini pork buns." full of soup, can't wait to go back for more and to explore the menu more.

the standard order of xiao long bao and shanghai noodles are a must and seems to be on every table.

service is what you expect, lots of organized chaos and the standard basic strip mall chinese resturant layout.

I hope they just moved, and did not close up shop. I went there a few weeks ago to find another Chinese restaurant in place of the Green Village. i need my dumplings and the hot sauce was the best. please if anyone out there knows if they have moved, update the info.
