Do not recommend at all

I went there on a Saturday night at around 8PM, and there were 2 other tables that were occupied at that time. When we ordered some sushi, they told us they were out of crab AND salmon (how can a Japanese restaurant not have enough crab for something as common as California rolls on a weekend?).

Anyway, I ended up getting something off their set menu, which was unique but not that great tasting. They are going for the fusion type of food, which is fine, but it is extremely pricy for the quality that you get. Not to mention the fact that they apparently don't carry stock of common food items.

It seems like the restaurant is really struggling. If they were smart, they would condense their large menu so they can specialize in some things and not have to stock as wide a variety of food items.

Best rice and sashimi you will find
Submitted Sunday, January 18, 2009 - 5:50pm [Dine in]

The sashimi here is the freshest you will ever have, and they also have some more rare types of fish you won't find at most Japanese restaurants if you want to pay for it. Don't come here for more contemporary Japanese food like teriyaki or cream cheese rolls or anything like that. That said, the rice they use is amazing and is by far higher quality than almost any other Japanese place. Seriously, if you want sushi, just come here to try the rice they use.

Great selections of cheesecake
Submitted Monday, December 8, 2008 - 3:21am [Dine in]

I tried this place with my girlfriend and had the lavender baked cheesecake and I think the wild berry glacier cheesecake to eat, and blueberry and strawberry tropical smoothies to drink. All were quite good, and they do go a bit more for the homemade style. The glacier cheesecake was pretty unique - if you haven't had frozen cheesecake before, here is a decent place in Richmond to try! The cheesecake isn't gourmet quality or anything but still tastes great, and the place is excellent for a small group of people. Service was pretty solid; the two people serving us were pleasant.
