(3)I went to this restaurant 3 days after it opened. I took 4 grandchildren and was amazed at what a good job they did considering how soon it was after opening. We had a very pleasant , very efficient waitress. Food was really good for a upper scale family restaurant. Amuch needed addition to Gordon Head.
I absolutely can not believe the bad reviews.
I eat at Da Tandoor every chance I can. The food is totally awesome.
I have travelled in India and loved the food there but I think this is fabulous.
I order the Tandori Special which gives a serving of butter chicken, curried lamb, chicken tandori , curried veggies and saffron rice. Plus it has a large serving of delicious Naan. It is more food that I can finish and it is $19 dollars!!! It must be the best deal in the city. However I would gladly pay $40 for it.
The Times Colonist food reviewer gave it an excellent review so I know I am not alone in my opinion.
Every person I have taken there for the first time continues to return over and over.
Do yourself a favour and try it. You'll be glad you did!!
The reviews are so caustic I would not be surpised if they were written by a competitor.
