I finally found time to check out the new location of the edge cafe, looking quite forward to it after loving what I tried at the smithe and cambie location, and was quickly dissapointed. Too many restaurants make the poor decision to change what htey are doing in the kitchen when they open up a new loaction and the edge cafe has followed suit. I used to make a couple of trips a week to the cambie location for the absolutely amazing and always changing soups (sometimes 3 different each day) which is a feat in itself, and every time I tried one of there new creations, it took the winter chill out of my bones ( the squash was my favorite). Having such a high opinion of them, the fall to where my palate was left was quite severe. The food tasted like it was made without passion, thrown together and I will not be returning.
