really good fruity drinks!
Submitted Sunday, October 28, 2007 - 9:45pm [Dine in]

I have been going to this place for bbt since it opened and it has remained my favourite place to grab bbt. Though I have heard their regular milk tea is pretty good, I have never tried it cause I love their fruity drinks and always get them instead. I have tried many bbt places and none of the other places taste as "real/fresh" as this place... and I agree with what others have said, their BUBBLES are the best! The place is small and can get crowded... so the ambiance isn't great but I usually just do take out bbt there. Also, it's been the same people (owners) serving us since I started going. They are usually really nice!

a good place to have a nice little quiet dinner...
Submitted Sunday, November 19, 2006 - 6:08pm [Dine in]

I went here with my boyfriend about two weeks ago. the weather was really gross outside with the rain but it was nice and cozy inside. we were seated in an area with a good view of the outside. they did put us all in one area with other tables though the restaurant was quite quiet. however, it wasn't too bad (other than one table where the person seemed to have wanted the whole restaurant to hear her conversation). the service was really good. the person was attentive but not intruding. the food was really good. we shared musheroom caps, a salad, a surf and turf (12 oz steak, 2 skewers of shrimp, veggies and scallop potatos), a side order of fries and dessert (a peach and pistachio cobbler). we were so full but it was all so delicious. not the best meal i have ever had but definitely a very good one :)

One of my favourites!
Submitted Thursday, March 23, 2006 - 2:06pm [Dine in]

Tropika is one of my favourite restaurants to eat at for lunch or dinner or for takeout. I can't guarantee the authenticity of the food, but I have to say it is deliciooous! My favourite would probably be the roti, but i love a lot of dishes on the menu - their satay, shrimp cakes, curry beef, green thai curry, eggplant, fried rice and noodles.. i love it all! My first trip to Tropika was about 8-9 years ago, and I have loved it ever since. I have been to all the locations, but this is by far my favourite. The service is usually really good and the food always comes out really fast. Every person that I have brought to Tropika have loved the food as much as I do. It is not necessarily the cheapest place to eat but it just depends on what you choose to order.

Funky Find
Submitted Thursday, March 23, 2006 - 1:59pm [Dine in]

I went here for my boyfriend's birthday a couple of weeks ago. it is a really funky place for the east side and not what you usually find. we had a fairly large group, around 16 people, but the service was still great! they were really nice and accomodating. i found the food was kind of a hit or miss at this place. some dishes were really good while some others were just ok. as well, it is best to really order dishes to share around the table. some of my friends got their food right away while other groups of friends had to wait until pretty much everyone else was done before their food came.

Great place for Brunch!
Submitted Thursday, March 2, 2006 - 12:25pm [Dine in]

I came here for a brunch party a couple of weeks ago for the first time. I had friends who had come here for dinner before and enjoyed it very much so I was looking forward to trying it out too. I found the decor a little wierd for a restaurant, ie. the seats. but it did make it look very funky. the view of false creek was awesome. we sat by the glass window and it made a great background for the lunch. The food was also really good! Two of my friends and I each ordered a dish and split it so that we could try a few different things. there was also a mini croissant and hot chocolate (?) that was complimentary. and finally, i also found the service good. they were attentive, polite, friendly and treated us really well even though there was a large group of us! i can't wait to try it out for dinner!

and i agree with the last review that it's awesome that Leonard came on this forum to speak out his side!

good quality chinese food!
Submitted Thursday, February 9, 2006 - 12:56am [Dine in]

Some of the food might be pricy but the quality is there. It is my favourite Chinese restaurant for dim sum and for dinner. The food is always really good - very tasty and the flavours are always just right. My family has gone here for many years, and never left it. All the friends that we have brought with us always end up loving it as much as we do.

Parking isn't too bad since it is in a mall. Gets pretty busy on weekends for dim sum.

mini-menu is awesome!
Submitted Thursday, February 9, 2006 - 12:51am [Dine in]

It is one of my favourite hk style cafes. My friends and I love going after 9ish for their late night specials. Their mini-menu offered during the afternoon, and after 9:30 is inexpensive for the same food that you can get on the regular menu. I love their baked rice and spaghetti dishes. I get it everytime I go. With the mini-meals, you also get a drink with it.

Not as good as it use to be, but still good.
