disappointing food
Submitted Saturday, May 4, 2013 - 4:49pm [Dine in]

a lovely quiet patio facing St. Ann's Academy. ordered the quinoa bowl with marinated chicken and it was so bland - i'm no chef but it could have used lemon, garlic, salt, pepper, maybe cook the quinoa in chicken stock? I would have asked the waitress for vinagriette or hotsauce or anything from the kitchen to give it some flavour, but she never came to check on us. I choked it down only because it had been paid for.

My dining partner had the charcuterie plate which we also shared - the cheese was cold and dry, very little meat. Perhaps other entree or appetizer choices would be better but I don't want to spend the money to find out. Next time we go I will stick to lattes.

Tasty Italian

Located at the Italian Cultural Centre you know the food is authentic! The decor is not that romantic, and we were seated behind a plant next to the door. But the service was speedy and attentive. We enjoyed our meals - two different pasta dishes that were delicious and very filling. We were too full for dessert. I would definitely go back.

Great Value

The prices here are really decent and I think the butter chicken is delicious. I discovered Jolly's when he was starting out and his success has been overwhelming, hence the lineups. I heard he might be moving to a larger place, and hiring more staff. That would be great, because I think his cooking is terrific.

I have eaten here several times. The food is consistently delicious. We like the butter chicken and coconut chicken, and often take home the extra sauce! The naan and chutneys are also terrifc. The service is very attentive and the decor is nice too. It is a great little neighbourhood restaurant. (note this is the one on Dunbar, not the North Shore)

A Lovely Meal

The decor is beautiful, the service is excellent. My BF had the ribs and the deep fried mashed (!) - enough calories for a week - which he said were delicious. I had the Satay appetizer for a meal and it was more than enough and very tasty. With daily drink specials and booths I would definitely go back with friends.

Rude Staff!
Submitted Tuesday, November 4, 2008 - 2:31pm [Dine in]

I took my BF here for his Birthday on a quiet weeknight, since he loves BBQ. The place was empty save for two tables finishing their meals. We sat near the till, with the staff passing by several times and standing around, ignoring us. We sat there for fifteen minutes getting annoyed and finally we left. Why is it so hard to give good customer service and just say hello??? They must smugly think we are the idiots for not knowing there is no table service but the manager lost our business for good. All somebody had to say was Hey folks, come to the counter when you are ready to order. But they couldn't be bothered. Why reward this kind of attitude??
